When the demo AU is opened, it will have presets. That's when it puts them in /documents. Maybe you have to close/reopen.

 

That's weird, are you talking about cloud (or even machine auth iLok stuff?) As iirc, or at least what I deal with, when the requisite plugin scan kicks in, with my physical iLok seems to let them all by without any errors.... unless I'm missing something... I have been primarily using Ableton lately, so it's audit isn't as deep as, say, Logic's is or some NI Maschine type thing... but I've been ok... (macOS Sonoma though, don't know if that makes any difference at all)

 

The lost forgotten important part of the art of it all right? (and tons of misinformation or rather sometimes lack of information/education or failure to rtfm on that for sure...)

Something like Silver Bullet Mk2 or the Model N channel... you aren't going to get anywhere near the best of them without taking that into account for sure....

 

I have tried closing and opening the AU plug many times... but nothing!

Then I looked on the sister site and even there they complained that the plug did not install presets.
So ‘someone’ - via a private conversation - upped the folder with the presets for me and... oooops, everything works. Thank you very much my friend...

For me, when it comes to audio plugins, 2024 (and 2023) has mostly been about The Usual Suspects and their DSP56300 emulator plugins. Especially OsTIrus,Vavra and Osirus, but Xenia and NodalRedx2 are also great. There's so much you can do with these synths! Love them!

Just recently we've also got a DSP Bridge plugin, so you can run the emulator on a 2nd computer and play music on your main. Perfect.

I'm not sure why but when I scan with FL studio or try to open the plugin it won't let me until I login to iLOK, same with Reaper. Maybe they all have to be installed to the cloud?

 

I don't have ANYTHING in the iLok cloud... I keep mine all on the physical stick.

ah ok, see thats the difference I'm assuming.

 

Every plugin that I own with iLOK my UAD, Sonnex, etc. they all will not be found until you login to iLOK

 

All my iLok plugins are Cloud, machine, or both. I've never used a usb key/dongle for any of them. Every once in a while, a plugin will stop working and I will have to open my iLok manager app and login. But that is like once every couple of months, randomly. The only ones I have a similar sounding issue are all Softube. If there is a problem with a plugin like this, I can see it in my Logic Plugin Manager. It will show that it did not authenticate when Logic was started up. Nothing like what you are experiencing.

 

I've had a similar issue with Sonnox and the cause was because I moved my VST3 plugins to another drive and did a folder junction (some kind of symlink) to it. It would deauthorize every time and I had to login and restart the DAW, and then it would happen again. Only Sonnox had that issue, and it was easy to caught because I moved the folder after having used the plugins for quite some time. If your plugins aren't in the default VST3 location, maybe that could be it.

First steps

1. Install the latest version of the iLok Licence Manager
2. Sign into the iLok Licence Manager, connect your iLok, and make sure that it's shown in the left-hand list
3. Make sure that your licence has been activated to your iLok
4. Right-click your iLok and select Synchronize. This will resolve any discrepancies between your account and the iLok.
5. If using the iLok Cloud, please make sure your Cloud session is open (File/Open Cloud Session).
6. Open your DAW and check whether your Sonnox plug-in is available to use

If your plug-in still doesn't show up
If your plug-in still doesn't show up, it has probably been blocklisted, or permanently ignored by your DAW. This saves your DAW from attempting to load a faulty plug-in every time you launch it.


If your licence is not activated to a valid location, or your iLok is disconnected, the DAW will treat the plug-in as if it's faulty.


Fixing this needs to be done differently for each DAW. Here are steps to follow for some major DAWs.

UAD Support

If your license does not automatically activate in UA Connect, please open iLok license manager, and sign in to the iLok account linked to your Universal Audio account. You can see which iLok account is linked by clicking on your email address in UA Connect.If you do not know the password to that iLok account username, you can reset this on www.iLok.com

Once you are signed in, click the username, and check under ‘available’. From there, you will be able to activate the license if it is not already activated.
If it is already activated, try de-activating it and re-activating it.

I would recommend to please check that your subscription licenses are refreshed:
iLok License Manager > Licenses > Refresh Subscriptions
Restart your computer, launch iLok license manager, if you are using iLok Cloud, go to file > close cloud session (or close all cloud sessions), then file > open cloud session Launch UA Connect, and you should find it now launches fine for you, and you should be able to see your licenses and access the software.

Thats whats weird they are all in the vst folder

I'm not reading all of that. You need to do some methodical trial and error. You have 2 possible problems, or both. Your DAW settings/preferences, or your Connectivity to iLok and any applications screwing it up.
