With so many options out there, what is your favourite metal distortion effect? I have been using many, but it seems I always go back to EZMIX2 - metal Guitar Gods - Devin Crunch.

Guitar Rig 5 - Doomed 51 is also a favourite.

    What is yours?

Peavey Revalver MKIII.V (4 coming soon) is quite good as well as TSE X50. LePou is a good freeware option.

Studio Devil Amp Mod PRO is pretty damn good and easy navigate but cpu heavy.

On the other hand I hate Kuassa's Amplifikation One. It's a good place holder because it is virtually weightless on the cpu but sounds like funneling a mouse fart through a megaphone.

    Thank you dude :]

All I can say is that the Eleven Rack (aka 11r) is a great audio interface for recording guitar and bass guitar only, although you can actually record vocals too (which has phantom power already integrated for condenser mics and such)

the sound is crisp, smooth, intense, and loud for the metal user its just great

In my opinion the 11r is on par with the AxeFx II (from a professional standpoint though he would say that the 11r is only one step below the AxeFx II none the less a professional interface)

Did i mention you can use it live :] ? oh yes just plug this bad boy to a PA and BAM ! you have a good set up already, I did it once for experimentation and oh boy it was intense and brutal that it makes you want to slap that one spoiled child in your family.

I know Nine Inch Nails has used it like in here, I dont know if trent is using it but jordie white is definitely using the 11r
    as you can see here

Btw i got it from Sweetwater
for $899.99 it came with the full version of protools 10HD and an expansion preset for the 11r

you can find them for less though from 300 (used) - 900 (new with extras)

also theres a big 11r community were everyone gives out their presets so you can use them, and theres a loooooooot of presets !

IXV... until now I had thought this was software... it's hardware!! I had a look at this review here and WOW:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aS6XfNL2Cs

When I get the cash I might get me one of these, at the moment software is doing the trick (which is what this thread was about originally).

    Thanks for sharing man!

I like the TSE X50 as well! It's pretty cheap too. :)

I know this is an older post but anyone looking for a great plugin for guitar should check out Positive Gris Bias. I'm loving it!

Thanks, mate. Checking it out now. It's never too late to give a good suggestion. Are there any good presets or starting points with this one? I'll check it tonight anyway.

Can you share a link to the 11r forums or community?

Years ago i loved to use GuitarRig2, "Fingers Claw" Sounded like Stacey Campbell from The Crüxshadows :), and "A Cure in the Forest" for a Curelike Sound for Clean Guitars, but those Patches are gone since GR3 i think :/
Today i like to Use JamVox, i dont need much Guitars, but when, JV is my first Choice
