Is it possible to have both Ableton Live 11 and 12 (both cracked) installed?

    Hey everyone,

Has anyone tried to install Live 12 without getting rid of Live 11?
I don't want to run them at the same time. But I want to be able to use both.
According to Ableton, it's possible to do it with legit versions:
    https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/209775945-Installing-Multiple-Versions-of-Live

    Reason I'm asking:
I already have Ableton Live 11.1.0 (cracked) installed.
And I'm learning how to use it (I'm still a newb).

Now a youtube tutorial is showing how to create a kick drum in Ableton Roar, which is only in Ableton Live 12.
So..now the downloader/collector/perfectionist in me wants to have Ableton Live 12. :(

    My Live 11 version is: 11.1.0 (R2R)
If this is possible, I will download 12.1.5 (by group AudioW****).

    I apologise....
But TBH if you are a newbie you better stick with Live 11 and hone your skills. I mean the basics.
Learn your DAW to the hilt. How to compose chords, harmonies, create catchy melodies, programming interesting rhythm/ drum beats, work with vocals and then mixing and mastering. Once you are expert in these things you can find the answer to your question yourself. In fact you can basically do everything in Live 11 barring a few things like above......

Interesting tools will give you advantage and make your work easier but won't hone your skills. So IMHO you can choose to work with drums/samples and keep using Live 11, and leave learning advanced tricks like creating kicks for later :)

With every updated version you are bound to get something new. So unless you are proficient in what you do you won't outgrow the version you are using that easily .
Truth to be told I also complimentarilly use Live 11 and is yet to learn everything it has to offer....

Hey, while I agree absolutely with the need for one to hone skills and basics and all of that... I see no reason not to hone said skills and understand said basics with v12 over v11....

There has been some stuff moved under the hood, and certain browser elements and functionality etc, let alone different instruments/fx etc....

I would rather go with the latest if one is starting there, then the previous... as learning down deep the basics of how Ableton works and how it's different structure of locations and everything .... you'd be better served starting with 12 then 11.

and that's not so much about new tools and toys, so much as it is about navigation, or how one might set things up, etc, etc...and there is a big difference in the v11 to v12 upgrade.

While I'm sure there is plenty to learn about 'music' and the creating, and understanding of things you speak of that can be fulfilled quite fine with v11... there is no reason, if one has the cpu and os that can run it, to start at that (11) vs the latest... unless there is something I am missing, or one wants to add additional steps to the user in upgrading later as there is a difference that can shape one's workflow and a lot of other things...

    Yes even v10

    because when installed:

    c:\ProgramData\Ableton\Live 10 Suite
    c:\ProgramData\Ableton\Live 11 Suite
c:\ProgramData\Ableton\Live 12 Beta (this is the latest version from Centercode v12.1.10b)
c:\ProgramData\Ableton\Live 12 Suite (Official 12.1 version I never use this the Beta release much faster & more functions)
