Hello everyone. I'm having a problem and I've searched everywhere and I haven't found anyone with something similar. So, the autoload of the sounds even after being deactivated returns to normal when I close and open omnisphere again. Although it's not a very serious problem, it's a bit annoying. Does anyone know if there's any way around this problem?

P.S. Any configuration I make within Omnisphere does not save. Fortunately, the presets chosen in the projects do record.

Selecting a sound in the Browser also loads the sound. How quickly it loads depends on the size of the file, as well as the Preview Load and Lite Version settings that you have enabled or selected. Lite Version is especially designed for fast loading of ready-to-play sounds.



Auditioning Sounds

When browsing a substantial library, it’s important to have convenient ways of quickly auditioning the sounds. The Browser provides an Audition Button, the Lite Version button with multiple thinning settings available in the Lite Version Options Zoom, a quick Preview Load, and options in the Browser Settings for setting up the Audition and Preview Load behavior.







If Audition Auto-Play is enabled in the Browser Settings, then selecting a sound will automatically audition it. The Audition Note and Audition Note Length settings determine the pitch and duration of the auditioned note.







Select the Audition Button in the Browser Footer to hear a note played using the currently loaded sound. The sound will play for as long as the button is selected (or until it decays).

The “Audition Note” setting in the Browser Settings Zoom determines the pitch of the note.

Omnisphere provides different ways to control how sounds are loaded. These are Auto Load, Preview Load and Lite Version, and these can interact with each other for maximum flexibility.

Auto Load is what we call the default way that Omnisphere loads sounds, and is always active if Preview Mode is not enabled. Auto Load will load the complete sound, with all samples, across all zones of the keyboard.

Preview Load will only load samples across a limited range of notes, based on the “Preview-Load Note Range” setting in Browser Settings. Because of this, Preview Load can load sounds much more quickly, making it a useful feature when previewing a large number of sounds, or when you need to audition sounds quickly.

Enabling and disabling the Preview Load button will toggle between the modes.

The Lite Version button is independent of the Auto Load and Preview Load modes, and can be used in combination with either of them.

When the Lite Version button is enabled, it will apply Sample Thinning settings based on the Lite Version Zoom Options. It also provides a way to quickly browse and audition sounds in the library.

Using Lite Version together with Preview Load is the fastest way to browse and audition a large number of sounds. Using Lite Version with Preview Load disabled (in Auto Load mode) allows for faster loading of complete, ready-to-play sounds.

Using these methods together with Audition Auto-Play and MIDI Learned Browser Steppers provides an exceptionally fast and convenient way to browse the Omnisphere Library.



NOTE: If Preview Load is enabled when the Browser is closed, the setting automatically reverts to Auto Load, and the full sound is loaded.

Thanks for trying to help, but I think I've made it clear that any settings I make are not saved. disabling the autoload button when I close and reopen autoload is still enabled.

 

It may also be that I did not understand your question correctly.Like you, I always save everything in presets via my DAW.

Thanks for the tip, so on my Omnsphere 2 I used the little downward pointing triangle to turn off "Auto Play".

I disable autoplay, but when I close omnisphere and open it again, autoplay is active.

I have now set the "Startup Directory" to User under "Miscellaneous" so that it always starts with my saved preset.

I always save everything in presets via my DAW.
Simply save Omnisphere as a VST3 preset with your DAW and then open your saved empty project again.

But whenever I open a project, omnisphere saves the presets I select, that's not a problem.. Only the settings don't. Example: If I set “Custom Controls Tab Reset” to off, when I close and reopen omnisphere that setting is turned back on.

 

In my opinion, all settings you make are only saved if you save them in your DAW as a VST3 preset.
For me, "Custom Controls Tab Reset" is always set to "ON"!

It could also be that Omnisphere sometimes chokes and doesn't save the changes.

Omnisphere saves the "System" settings for me regardless of saving as a VST3 preset.
It also saves other settings such as Auto-play,etc.
MOST plugins do save such settings independent of the DAW. often in config files.

Omnisphere user settings are stores in a file:
C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\STEAM\Omnisphere\Defaults\User Settings.xml
(The same is true for their other products, in their particular directories)
Make sure that file is not "Read-Only".
It's possible that might prevent the program saving the settings.

I didn't really have full control of the folders, but I resolved that issue. It's still the same. I really didn't want to have to reinstall it after all the work I'd done.

 

My autoplay setting seems to be saved OK in stand-alone and VST, but I TOO wish it would save sort settings.

I even have a problem with it saving my ratings.
There were somehow a bunch that had ratings I don't think I gave them, so I cleared them.
Then I sorted by name and then by Rating, and the ratings were put back.

But my Omnisphere ("unofficial" version) is saving settings such as note used for preview , controller assignments,etc.
I do NOT have to save anything in DAWs for Omnisphere to save its own settings, and it has done that ever since I have had it - Since Version 2.0.

Opinions about many things are fine and useful, but this is no time for opinions ... we are trying to figure out the facts here!
I think the intent might be "to the best of my understanding" or something like that.

Anyway, the vast majority of plugins save user settings independent of a DAW's own process of saving the plugin's state & patch settings.
I have loaded up MANY VSTs using Savihost and other hosts and many plugins own 'stand-alone' hosts and I have changed all kinds of settings that were saved by the plugin with no help from the hosts.

- Of course because in those hosts i did not create a saved patch (or 'project' or 'scene', or many of the various terms they use for saving patch info) the patch was not saved.
But all the other settings such as preferences, GUI, skins, etc are generally saved.
Of course what can be saved and where it is saved varies depending on what the designer coded, and it seems in Omnisphere they may not have coded it to save the sort state.

Side note: It seems Omnisphere may have even had some problem(s) for some people in the past, as far as saving patches with projects.
I know it did for me, and I began to name all tracks with patch names, etc to counter that problem, but it seems to be fixed now.
That seems to have been a problem for those with 'official' software as well.
