    You can uninstall it after deactivating your plugins, and everything still works.

    Well I've tried the reverb, I like it a lot, it is very usable and consumes minimum resources.

    They gave it away automatically as a bonus together with another free plugin (maybe the Pultec, I forget). Galaxy Echo bonus licenses were limited to 2500-5000 - first come, first served.

    Technically you can give any other developer on Plugin Boutique the money instead of UAD :)

    But I do hate iLok too, and that is definitely the worst part about owning anything UAD.
