These trollistic posts full of preconceived ambiguous assumptions and generalization do not serve anything else :dunno:

Now balls Xupito, of course no one here knows how to work with musical notes... FYI: that meme just cleansed my soul!

Reaper is nerd-friendly as the JSFX engine allows a lot of customization and extension. IIRC, I saw a photo if IK using it to record Pianoverse with robots.

    I see Reaper more as a Script Engine than a full-blown DAW.:shalom:

I use Ableton Live for the creative process and then Reaper to mix and master.
Its stable and very efficient and using actions can really speed up your workflow big time.
Its cheap and again very very customizeable.
I have scripts / actions for all my workflow needs, cleaning up empty tracks, mixdown, master setup.
    Its a huge timesaver.
I have set it up using 3 monitors and have a great view of my project.
    Been a Reaper since years

This will hit 15 pages by the weekend. I wish I could find some tutorials or instruction on how to troll like a master. It seems like this information is withheld from ordinary people. The truth of trolling is not looked for by people today, you must admit this first friends before we can have proper understanding. Sorry, I am newb please help

It was a throw away comment and not mean as anything more than an assessment of the state of the thread and the fact that it's moves so far from the original loaded question. I thought the light hearted tone would better get the idea across rather than a judgemental tone condemning and acusing. Apologies if my comment came across to anyone as trolling. That was not my intention. As I say it was intended to be light hearted and I was maybe trying to point out that this place is usually a warm friendly forum and this thread was becoming somewhat toxic, and yes my attempt at humor was perhaps misplaced.

The Hollywood DAW needs to do AAF and Dolby Atmos.
And even if it does and is the better DAW: Does it come with eucon protocol, can it be married to an S6?
There is one other DAW than Pro Tools that ticks all those boxes (Nuendo) and as far as I know only 10% of all postproduction houses use Nuendo (besides Pro Tools, they all need to have both). That is.. in Germany. In the US more like 0.5%.
So reaper has to walk some more miles to get there.
The reason is not that PT is any good. Far from that.

Likely because of the price. Some mention the flexibility for very niche workflows. Daily, you will be much faster with other DAWs (e.g., Studio One or Cubase).

The performance is good, but the difference is marginal. Other than Cubase, Pro Tools, and Reaper, other DAWs are not using all the efficiency cores on Apple Silicon, but these will be fixed soon, and you will not hit the absolute threshold anytime soon in any normal song.

well I don't know about anybody else, but the checks reaper sends me for talking good about them in forums etc are 3x as large as the ones I get from Ableton or Cubase. they are so large I usually have to fold them 4 times to get them to fit in my wallet.

All cakewalk sends me is those Fr*king fruit cakes at christmas time that are so hard and dense they make perfect door stops or speaker stands. I stubbed my toe on one and the doctor wanted to know if I'd been kicking frozen ice blocks.

Plus the skins are totally changeable, you can make it look like Protools, Semi-protools, Amatuer Tools, My Old Man's Tools, U R Just-a_bunch of Tools, or Cakewalk, which is handy for fucking with people behind their backs, and totally worth 60$ or whatever Justin needs for a large pizza and a bottle of brandy to keep programming which I heartily suggest you keep kicking his way so he can keep pumping out that code.

Plus next year it will a plugin that will change Autotune Vocals back into normal human vocals, so that will be a game changer...

I'm waiting for Dolby Atmos double triple surround 3d with intangible midi geospatial audio compostion to really bother composing anything new. its a great excuse and it really sounds technical and stuff. How did the Beach Boys do it with just a single mono mix? How can you possibly make music with anything less than the Dolby Atmos Gigantos Extravganzos Deluxe Extreme Super Surround Infinite Spatial Multi-Adverb Noun Technology? (its a theoritical question, no need for a long youtube video explaining what I'm missing)

its funny how no one cares about dialogue, let alone being able to hear what they are saying, but with most of what's being said these days, maybe thats the whole point of drowning the words in a sea of noise and sound effects and strangely terrible music.

So yeah I'm all over that Atmost Dolby thiang..

That is the crux of the matter. Both eucon and atmos are proprietary protocols that are subject to license fees. Reaper, dependent on third-party proprietary licenses? I don't have a crystal ball to tell me the absolute truth of the future, but I think it's extremely unlikely.
Many are dependent on PT because Avid has exploited its market position and deliberately created dependencies in order to be able to hold its own against the growing competition in the long term. The same crap with Magix. Instead of providing the features that their major customers need, they even charge extra to deliver them.
Reaper is kind of the anti-thesis to that. Personally, I very much appreciate this.
It may not be equipped with the same exquisite features as the products of these two companies. But it gives you the freedom to create scripts. And if that's not enough, you can program an extension for the feature you need. For most major customers, this approach would be much more flexible and cost-efficient than buying special versions from Magix, but to each their own.
