Reaper, Linux, AMD and RME have a fanboy problem. I hate fanboys so I stay clear of using any of the ones mentioned.

My guess why some people dont like Reaper its because its cheap it isnt as "hip" and well established as other DAW,s like PT Cubase Live S1 Logic and even FL Studio it also could be the fact that the included plugins doesnt have a GUI as 98% of all modern DAW users listen with their eyes not their ears.
And that goes of course with the default GUI aswell even though it became better on Reaper 7 you really need a skin if you dont like the default GUI and if people would know that there is tons of skins you can download to Reaper some of them copy the look of other DAW,s some is a copy of famose mixing boards so i bet anyone could really find a GUI they like if they do a search
And of course another topic is the lack of included library content there other DAW,s has several GB of content.

But if they really took the time to learn Reaper and all the amazing thing it can do i bet they will like it

Nah... woke people don't have the attention span needed to use Reaper.
And can't blame them since, you know, they have their hands full watching TikTok for hours and gettin' offended on Twitter/X.

PS. don't kill me!! it's a joke loosely inspired on real events

    There's nothing wrong with reaper.
However, this does not necessarily apply to the people who have to repeat this dayin dayout.
Is it a DAW or a religion? Not quite clear.

It a cult and Justin is it's high priest
We speak our secret jsfx and EEL2 languages, conspire to rip off and wipe out other DAWs from the surface of the planet.

Like the i9 crowd aren't a bunch of curiously nerdy, clock speed obsessed, closed minded shut-ins with an almost sexual attraction to their CPU's.

'Fanboy' classifications are valid only to the accuser in an attempt to bring self-serving, fake order to the absolutely subjective.

This is a funny statement since there are no Windows routers or TV's.
Are you sure about your statement?
I think you might be using Linux and not know it.

None of that counts. It's definitely about loading Linux on a PC and trying to use it to do actual stuff

I suspect that the question is not really correct and biased.
It is stated that there are “some” who like Reaper, you may assume that by now there are a huge number of users of Reaper.

The reason: there is so much about Reaper to love.
Any listing detracts from the intrinsic quality and capabilities of Reaper.

Invest some time to get to know it. Chances are you'll understand why this is a great DAW . Provided you have enough interest, curiosity and desire to learn.

In itself, the quality and immense possibilities are enough arguments for Reaper.
For myself: after Cubase, Ableton and Reason (which I still have and almost never use), in Reaper I was able to build the appropriate structure, fully adapted my workflow, among other things with toolbars and subtoolbars.

Regarding promotion: Cockos apparently does not promote Reaper Unlike the other DAW vendors. I have yet to see any paid ads in Computer Music, Sound On Sound and Future Music....

And just because someone expresses enthusiasm about Reaper, you can't consider it “promotion". Users of other DAWs are free to do the same.

In conclusion, try it out. If you like it: ok. Do you find something else better for you: also ok.

That's quite bad mate. You could just outright admit you like Intel inside instead of mentioning hate for fanboys etc.
In 2024, it's common knowledge there is no worse fanboys than Intel and Apple ones. What you mention are merely misdemeanors compared to the Intel inside and outside guys dispute that has been going on for 40 years now lol. Which actually, along with MS presence, is the basic fuel to the pc vs mac debate, still alive and busting our balls every now and then haha. Funniest era of this dispute was the Apple Intel inside era, i totally enjoyed all of it. Popcorn and the likes. Nobody knew what to make of the "unholy union" in the beginning, Apple fanboys heads were ringing "wtf are we doing with these corporate suits, us anti-conformists", Intel fanboys felt betrayed and bragged "meh we 're doing them a favor, should 've left 'em underperforming with fkn Motorolla", but very few understood the business significance of the initial collab move which unfortunately for Intel, the deal started going beyond their comprehension at some point, especially after Apple hit the first trillion dlrs hehe.
Another great aspect of that era is Hackintosh, the "poor man's Mac and then some", it was fantastic and still is to some extent.
Now, AMD deserves some fanboy-ism, they have been the underdog since like forever and lately they are killing it on all things cpu wise. RME deserves some fanboys too, because > most stable driver ever and lowest latency record for decades. Now saying Reaper and Linux have a fanboy problem is much like saying Fiat and Open Office have a fanboy problem lol. While they have keen users, only nerds will ever be fanboys and not all are such.
As for me, hardware wise, i like anything that works best and gives me options. Software i don't care, i will argue to my death that all daws are irrelevant. And for the same matter OS's too. People's ideas and creative usage make them relevant.
    Cheers

People spend time with different friends but finally they choose one for marriage. The difference between marriage and spending time with friends is that marriage is a serious matter. Reaper is unfortunately not the marriage case of many people. When a person is going to work on a project in a very serious way, he chooses one of the following. I wish Reaper was on this list. I wish it was because it has many different advantages, but many people choose one of these for very important projects.:

Still going? How long will you keep trolling with ambiguous assumptions and generalizations? And "serious way" nonsense. The tech behind music production is a craft based on detail. Something you never get into intentionally for your trolling reasons: "Oh i know, let's start spitting some adjectives and see how people react for X amount of pages"... This, along with your daw thread, are hideous examples of trolling. You never say anything of weight or substance. Just (moronic) statements like "People use this", " People don't buy soft", "People who work projects in a serious way" and endless empty blah blah for ever. I will not get any further to the underlying hatred you bring with your pretentious  manners. Stop or be reported. Waste of server space and our time.
    Nuff said.
