Please does anybody know why the nexus 5 gui works so slow in reason 12 ? is there any way to fix this ?

How does one import the older ".nxp" files into Nexus 5 ???

I have a small problem, can someone maybe help me a bit or at least give me a little tip. I have installed a preset in my Legit Nexus 5, or rather put it in folders where the presets and nks.. etc. belong, but unfortunately in Nexus there is no refresh or restart so that all the presets are reloaded in order to display them in Nexus. I have installed a preset but it cannot be displayed in Nexus. How can I solve this problem?

 

hm ... if it's third party than I would just suggest adding it to the "User Presets" Folder and load them that way ...

if its a first party Expansion ... Well ... they likely will not work since you don't have the Licence for it

 

Was having a similar issue ... Turns out the folder names in you presets folder are likely incorrect
the Dance Vol 2 and Dance Vol 3 are the once that jumped out and made me spot this very quickly as for me they are just named Dance 2 and Dance 3

My issue was mainly with all the Artist Series XP's all having Artist Series in the folder name

You can lookup the correct names in the content_properties.json file that is located in the Public my Documents folder (Just open it with a text editor like Notepad or Notepad++)

The folders like Arpeggios/Bass/Classical ect are likely all in the Factory Presets Folder as they seem to be the old structure that Nexus 1/2 used

What type of content folder structure you have please

 

With the arrival of the new N5, it seems that the structure about the old folders has become almost a hidden science. Will we need Harry Potter and friends to manipulate a handful of old trivial folders?

It would indeed be very interesting to understand how to make those old folders also appear with a nice coloured icon (since - as you can see - the menu now only sees them as generic folders).

Who knows... perhaps ‘Radio’, ‘twoheart’, ‘ArticStorm’, ‘Albert Seguir’ or other N5 gurus have the solution by posting the precise structure of the folders?
Any comprehensive and definitive information (perhaps even with photos) on how to achieve this without pain would be greatly appreciated.

The question 2025 is: Where put those old folders and presets (I guess they come from Nexus 1, 2, maybe 3) to get them with a nice coloured icon under the Expansions tab and not as a generic grey folder under the Folder tab?

Have you perhaps already found a solution for this problem?

Well it depends ... For third party presets this might not be possible
However for all the official reFX Expansions it's just a matter of having the folders named correctly and having up to date "content_properties.json" & "user_tags.csv" files in your public documents folder

Also note that the folders Arpeggios/Bass/Classical/Dance Leads/Epic Pads/Fantasy And Dream/Gated Pads/Piano/Plucked/Single Layer Leads/Single Layer Pads/Single Layer Sequences/Splits and Sequences/Synthetic Brass/Textures and FX/Voice Have all been moved to "Factory Presets"

if there are other Expansions showing up under folders than look in the "content_properties.json" (Just open it with a text editor like Notepad or Notepad++) for the correct folder names.
One known example of this is the "XP Dance Vol.2" folder that should be renamed to "XP Dance 2"

Also note that if you add folders in both Presets and Samples Folders that are in the "content_properties.json" of Expansions you don't have the content for they will show up without presets in them

Sorry, I've only just seen your post. I have my Nexus library on an external drive. I used a tool called 'update_nexus_library_location.exe'. It was probably included in an older Nexus installation.

 

have others had missing file for a preset warning when clicking a preset, alot of factory 5 presets have this warning.

 

I had similar problems. with some old factory presets I didn't get an example, I removed those because they are also in the N5 factory presets.

 

In the Public Documents folder where the "content_properties.json" & "tags.csv" are also located there is a file named "settings.json" in there you will find the location of the "library_folder" and you will be able to change it if needed

Just make sure that you have the full "rom/ROMExt/ROMEx2/ROMEx3/ROMEx4/Rom4WT/ROM5" Folders in the Samples folder of the "Nexus library" as some of the factory presets in Nexus 5 use these

Did u put all the ROMs in the ”Sample” folder?

 

I'm using Nexus 5.1.5 on a MacBook Pro M1 using StudioOne 7.
There's a patch in the Ambient Sci Fi expansion named iDrops. It's a Sequence patch.
Whenever I send Midi through it no matter if it's with the QWERTY keys or even the keyboard in Nexus 5, as soon as I hit any note it completely shuts down Studio One 7.
Any ideas you guys can help me with?

i have all the ROM files, ROM 5 do not show up in the browser even as its in the samples folder, some of the missing presets are in the folder i checked, but sill get missing file for the preset, dont know what eles to try, any help would be good, thx

 

the 197gb VR release of the entire v4 content works basically perfect. (so far anyway). It's not even compressed. You do have to rename the "Artist series" expansions so they show up as expansions. Mentioned already in the thread.

The Librarian in Nexus has always been the worst aspect about installing it. I thought when they mentioned "open architecture" it might be more like Falcon. Nope.
