Anyone got a possible track or artist ID on this Reggae vocal sample?

The track using the vocal sample was released in 1996 so it would be sampled from something before that date

Sounds more like a UK MC on rave, hardcore, jungle etc than a sample.

How do you know the date the track was released but only have this vocal snippet?

The samples used in this old Scott Brown track, but its definitely not original from what I can gather

Yeah I seen Run DMC being mentioned, but like you say thats for the other snippets

 

Idk know the exact name BUT I know that's a really famous song, youtube has a few versions of that song, I remember hearing a reggae dub version and the original inside a long playlist. Tbh I'm pretty sure this song is even on a Ps2 motocross game soundtrack as a remix.

They do sound similar but unfortunately it can’t be as his first track came out in 2003, the track I’m after is 1996 or before

It's going to be somebody like Cutty Ranks, Capleton. It's from a soundsystem DJ (which is actually the vocalist, not the guy with the dubplates aka "selecta"). It's ragga.

This is the correct vocal sample. But it's not the original record. 2017 release date. If you are just wanting to snag the sample, using this might do some of the work for you. It has to be a relatively popular record, because two tracks of these styles (house/hardcore) sampling something obscure is very unlikely. Like Buju Banton, Top Cat, someone relatively well-known.
