    You mean "Everything"?
Ye, I'm using this since years, it's the best search engine in my opinion.

After becoming very annoyed by Windows' search function and how many resources and time it takes,
I had to find an alternative and then I found this. Never went back to search for anything in the windows explorer.

What @Radio said - there are too many files directly associated with your profile. The files marked S-1- anything are profile files. You risk not only killing your profile but the security attached to it. Backing it up can help but if you have no other profile or system backup you may put yourself in a space where you cannot retrieve anything. I use an app called Total Uninstall. It does a deep analysis of every file associated with any installation and deletes only those associated with the application you want to uninstall. It can also install a system restore point if you change your mind.

The other way testing software without doing harm to your system is using Sandoxie. Try apps in a sandbox than just delete it without any headache about deinstalling and cleaning registry.

    couldn't recommend it more

Dang that's definitely interesting. Is github a website where people upload programs they've complied that are open source?

You have to be careful what you install, a system can quickly become unstable due to faulty software. I have always installed the same reliable software for years. I have created a folder specifically for the programs I use and saved the folder three times so that I always know what I am using, which is very helpful if the system ever needs to be reinstalled.

According to Wikipedia, it reads like this:

GitHub is a developer platform that allows developers to create, store, manage, and share their code. It uses Git software, which provides distributed version control of access control, bug tracking, software feature requests, task management, continuous integration, and wikis for every project. Headquartered in California, it has been a subsidiary of Microsoft since 2018.

It is commonly used to host open source software development projects. As of January 2023, GitHub reported having over 100 million developers[9] and more than 420 million repositories, including at least 28 million public repositories. It is the world's largest source code host as of June 2023. Over five billion developer contributions were made to more than 500 million open source projects in 2024.

Yep, there was this thread sometime ago where we were mentioning what utilities are best, Everything is on many people's list, mine too for years now. TreeSize Free and TreeSize Pro is another different utility to find easily how much space files and folders occupy. It can export reports/lists to text, XML, Excel, HTML of the contents of whole drives with different criteria that you can choose. Very handy especially for file hoarders like me hehe.
    Cheers

I hear that, hell I've heard people using Norton or Mcafee Anti-virus and messing their systems up. The computer repair guy told me it happens all the time to stay away from their software.

    I would recommend this too.
But if you're experienced with Windows, and have a recent system backup...
This tool is the shit. The "export installation of a program" feature is a must for me.
The analysis of installed programs both monitored and already installed is very good.
It also makes creating no install versions much easier. When it can be done that is.
