Oh wow for sure thats interesting. Damn I can imagine that 1990 mac being bogged down lol. That's awesome that ELO was involved, I mean the word orchestra is in their name after all. I'm not a fan of Springsteen I think he's always been overrated. By the way this a was very strong first post.

You gotta remember, after AfD the entire Western world was looking for what Guns were gonna do next. If you read Mick Wall's excellent book, you'll notice that for several years, being a member of GnR meant getting asked "when is the next album coming??" in between whiskey and coke binges with groupies. I wouldn't be surprised if some journalists made their way into Axl's or Slash's bedrooms just to ask the question lol.

So after all the anticipation, the endless studio hours that cost them a hundred thousand billion dollars etc. Axl's out of control ego wouldn't let him just release a single album. There are some gems on both releases, but so many fillers.

And yeah, releasing the same song with alternate lyrics is the lamest shit they pulled off. Even as a die hard GnR fan (I carved the cover of AfD on my arm with a razor blade, that should tell you enough LOL) I never cared for it. Only a parody band with zero sense of humor would do such a thing.
