always didnt wonder why my music sounds so different from trance music out there?
Turns out im following non genre progressions :D

are there any list of chord progressions typically for trance music? (preferable 00s and early 10s), since later it all got very cheesy and EDMed. Simply because Trance made out with EDM.

I know here are a few trance people, maybe they have some ideas and input, others are also welcome.

ohh i found: I-VI-V-IV very inspiring, turns it i can invert it and it still sounds crazy warm.

i didnt realize you can pick a standard progression and invert it, or change one chord in it and it sound great :o

KLF and Dance 2 Trance might be a bit to old, for what im looking for.

i think more better melodic stuff came around 2000, which i really like.

guess i will have to play around with progressions for a while -- a whole new wonderland <3

 

i didnt meant defined chord progression, but common chord progression, which you can get from taking a look at some examples.

i use these as a basis, because my progressions, sound different, and when i use these as basis, i can go ahead and simple invert them, shuffle them, whatever

i tried working with these engines a while back, its not for me. i rather take a progression and play it for me and then have fun.

yes i pulled my music theory book from my shelf again, i havnt touched it in 17 years. Its worth it to finally understand more about it.

1 for tonic and so forth, if its a minor chord, it gets a m -
i know its typically "I" or i for the minor chord.
