Where to install user presets in Guitar Rig 5?
Recently I downloaded the Guitar Rig Presets collection from AudioZ. I managed to drag and drop the presets from the folder in the VST, it worked also but there are like 50 folders in the collection and it's difficult to do it every time.
Can't get the location for the presets!

 

If I'm Not Mistaken HERE THE LOCATION
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Guitar Rig 5\Sounds

I'm Not sure Because I'm Not In My Studio Right Now , When i get back I will check it out For you *yes*


OR you Can Import Presets From Guitar Rig Itself

I use Guitar Rig 5 in my host and I can't find any import option in VST mode. I'll just try your location and let you know if it works or not!

 

First have a folder open with the presets you wanna add,leave that open and open GR5, in the GR5 window where it says New in GR5,GRMix etc,right click in an empty spot,a window should come up that says create new tag,click that,name it what you want,like Acoustic GR5 is first in the list so that's perfect,open up the Acoustic GR5 preset folder in the folder you have open,you should see all the .ngrr files,select all of em ( ctrl +A ) click and hold on what you selected,drag it to the empty window at the bottom left in GR5,it'll take a sec then they'll be listed,Then you do the same process for the next category.It takes a lil while,it's kinda tedious but it's worth it.Also some of the categories have mutiple folders in em,you could either make a seperate tag for each sub category within a folder or do what I did and just drag all the presets in each folder in to the same category in GR5.Also I think you only need the GR5 presets,the GR4 one are pretty much the same thing minus a few.They are just for GR4 users at least I think.Demon would know better than I.Hope that helps,I helped a few in PM with this awhile back.Still had the message saved,so made it a lil easier on me as I've typed this at least 10 times before in slightly different variations

unfortunately, the only way to add the preset is the create the tag and add the preset via drag/drop. placing them in the 'sounds' folder doesn't do anything because it has to be in the guitar rig database as well. also, if you don't create a tag first, it will be difficult to recall the presets later.

so for example, Acoustic. create a tag 'Acoustic FX' and drag all the ngrr from the Acoustic FX folder. do the same for 'Effected Acoustic' and 'Slightly Colored Acoustic'. this will be copied to your 'Sounds' folder.
