Wow! I didn't know this. The old super-duper-classic AWave can open ncw files... impressive

 

I managed to make TC works. I was using an old version of innkx apparently.

I managed to convert .nkx to .ncw samples.
But how to convert .ncw to .wav files. With conncw?
The whole process seems slower than just using Kontat "File -> Collect Samples..."

 

Well, it depends on a library, some have uncompressed wav stored (older ones, that what I used it for) and once you have .ncw files you can uncompress them in Kontakt (save as, Patch + Samples, check of "compress samples")

there is also a total commander alternative in open source.
you can use inNKX with Double Commander, it will need few manual adjustements:
Options/ add WCX plugin and files type, + select show hidden system files attribute for nkx.
(inNKX 2024 will work on every library, not the older version)


the batch renaming files name is helpfull with PAResources extract.
to clean in one step the anoying [pipe] prefix in files names.

 

Here is a php script, copy and run it in the root of your samples and this will spit out a .bat file that you run to do the actual work. Without a bat does not work, don't bother trying it doesn't work.

Is it possible to convert multiple librairies at once with double commander ? It only export to .ncw, isn't it possible to export it as .wav directly ?

 

does this allow for multiple libraries extraction ?

 

The issue is that totalcommander extract to ncw not to wav

 

Re-save and Batch Collect should do the same thing -> convert all samples referenced by the instrument patch(es), skipping orphaned (unused) samples.
