I'm kind of digging up (hehe) this necro thread

I created my own solution to the problem of too many plugins.

F-ing Simple Plugin Manager is a simple program written in Python that scans the indicated plugin locations and can 1-button disable them, i.e. rename the extension to -disabled by which you can hide unnecessary plugins in the DAW in a second. It can save the list of disabled plug-ins as a preset to quickly change active/inactive plug-ins. Searching by name works very fast and blocked plugins are displayed in red.

The program is copy left, part of the code was added by Will Kweks (from audiosex)

It should be multiplatform, but I personally had no way to test it.

Look at your last couple tracks you made then look at the plugins you used the most then keep them and the other plugins you didnt never use or didn't even think about using you can just scrap them

oh never mind yeah i use a plugin manager as well thats the only way besides uninstalling all type of vst's then going back to clean up all the folders is a pain in the butt as well

its crazy how creative you can be with one synth and just stock plugins from your DAW.

make a list what you really use and uninstall the other plugins.
