Which plugins (that you can't find in sister site) are worth buying?

Being close to the huge discounts of black friday, it would be great to have a list of plugins to look for, so can you share recommendations on plugins that are not in sister site? I know for example that Soothe 2, Sonnox Limiter and Inflator, Soundtoys... are highly recommended. Also it would be kind to consider plugins for mac, since the aviability of them in the sister site is lesser than the windows ones.

Sonnox Claro (eq), Sonnox SupResser (de-esser), or basically all of them. Schwabe Gold/Orange Clip, and I will surely think of more.

Here's the thing, for Mac; you would not just want iLok un-cracked for Mac; you want iLok un-cracked plugins for Windows. You could demo/buy DDMF Metaplugin to try running Windows plugins in it as a wrapper. If you are successful getting that to work, buy it. Otherwise you could use Audiogridder/ Crossover/ Crossgridder etc. to run Windows versions of plugins that have been released, but not for Mac.

Or you could just buy some things you want anyway, or things you could buy to support the developer. The sale prices from Sonnox are going to be very hard to beat.

SuperPlate by Soundtoys. It's only my experience but it's the most beautiful plate algo reverb I've ever heard. It's a joy, it's beautiful. I own the full bundle (which I bought here from @vayabahia btw) and I paid only $29 for it. Psyscope is another awesome plugin, constantly updated by the developer and relatively cheap. These are the ones I can think on the top of my head rn.

I don't personally, which is why I said demo it first. It is a paid-option only still on Mac, as far as I know. For Audiogridder or Parallels methods you just need things you can find on sister site. I would look for stuff with no Windows releases, because very few of them will be only available on Mac. Not the other way around.

I did not have good luck with Claro. I bought it on steep discount, but its been super buggy and slow for me. Honestly the worst performing plugin i have, and i have a lot. Sucks, cuz i want to like it, as in theory its a great plugin.

    OxyOTT by Oxy DSP

I found this one a couple of weeks ago, when watching a youtube tutorial.

    From their website:
Available for WIN and MAC, there is also a demo available, which I tried out and fell in love with.
According to their discord, there will be a Black Friday Sale, so I am definitely are going to get it.

The TDR Special Filters bundle. $50 for 4 plugins, one of them being hands down the best de-esser ever made, without being advertised as such. Incredible plugins, I use every single one of them in every mix.

I also like Sonnox Claro and Sonnox Voca. Still debating on getting Voca (only did the trial), but I think it works nice, especially if you need zero latency.

I daily drive Claro as my only EQ and it always works great, super snappy with zero slow downs. Do you have a dedicated GPU? Maybe the interface is hardware accelerated, I have never checked.

You could just buy Psyphaz Pro instead. It includes the same oscilloscope and all features of Psyscope, but has so many more features as well. Really powerful plugin for all of your bass management and sidechaining needs!

Although, it seems like OP is a Mac user, so he won't be able to use any FX23 plugins at all.

Soothe 2 is already available on the sister site for Windows, but I don't know why any of the Mac teams/individuals haven't tried their hands on porting the release to Mac. Maybe they can't do it for iLok releases where R2R removed all of the protection code? It seems like none of the R2R iLok releases from the big wave has been ported to Mac so. I truly feel for you Mac users.

Besides Cinematic Rooms Pro, any major DAW, i.e., Logic, Cubase, Studio One, Ableton has perfectly adequate plugins. Getting more is just RESISTANCE to getting work done.

I've used both v1 and v2 on my Mac Pro 5.1 with no problems at all. I think I probably installed v2 over v1 though. Otherwise, the problem is likely on your end. Maybe you have another plugin causing it, but one other thing to check is logging into your iLok Manager software and opening Claro while you have it open. I go months without opening their iLok Manager app, if I do not install anything new. This is the link for the legacy version v1: https://dload.sonnoxplugins.com/pub/ilok/dload/Toolbox/Claro/Sonnox Claro_v1.01.0[155]P.pkg.zip

I'd like to suggest MIA Laboratories plugins (they unfortunately use iLok). They're all kinda valid and unique, I suggest to demo first and then pick up the ones you want (or the whole bundle)

Going back and doing Mac releases would be time consuming, even if they could be done. Zero latency plugins are great for when you are tracking; but if you are mixing then it doesn't matter anyway. Running Windows plugins via virtualization in Crossover or Parallels Desktop is relatively simple. It just uses some more cpu/ram resources. If you look at the spreadsheet, you have a very good idea what is going to work and will know which won't. Only the newest machines and MacOS versions can't run Windows via Bootcamp. If those options are too complicated for the user, such is life.
