I got Revalver 5 from sis site and it was working fine for a long time. Then a couple days ago it just stopped opening. Reaper wouldn't even load all the way and I noticed it kept stopping while loading Revalver so I tried loading revalver standalone and it won't open either. I've uninstalled, re-installed, restarted computer, uninstalled the last windows update and nothing fixes it. It was working fine and then all of the sudden nothing! Anyone else run into this or know how to fix it?

Sounds like a timebomb or badly cracked. What version do you have installed?

InMusic Brands Peavey HeadRush ReValver v5.0.4 Hotfix No USB

    A User say:
Some WinOS, as in my case Win 10 Pro 22H2, needed an usb stick in which Headrush could see the same license.txt than the located in "C:\ProgramData\HeadRush\Shared\license\", once Revalver was installed. Overwriting Revalver files with the files of this download avoid that hardware loop issue.

    Another User:
Now is not asking for the USB.
But if I plug any Drive via USB-C it Crash the App or the DAW.
If I plug it via USB, it opens normally.

*Plug in a usb stick in your machine formated as Fat32, or & format it as Fat32, but you don't need to whipe the stick if it's Fat32 formated, actually I did it in a usb winpe with the whole mess in it.

*Go to "C:\ProgramData\HeadRush\Shared\license", u'll find a .txt called "license", copy the .txt & drop it inside de usb stick.

it was working fine and never asked for a usb. I tried using the hotfix but it didn't help. I uninstalled the last windows update and uninstalled and reinstalled Revalver but it just wont work. It said some kind of error on like the 3rd time I reinstalled it when launching reaper but it never said any other errors. It was working totally fine for months. I had it on a recent project that I made just for jamming around and it worked fine every time I opened reaper. Then suddenly it crashes reaper before reaper ever fully opens. And the standalone program won't launch either. It starts to open and looks like its loading for a second and then it goes away as if I had clicked to close it. I have no idea whats going on. I tried deleting everything I could find in appdata and program data and everything but its as if my computer suddenly refused to ever open it again

Ok so here's the weird thing, I got it to work again but I have to have my external drive connected. I used to always leave it connected but figured it needs a break so I unhooked it. When I plugged it back in, it works. But even after I apply the hotfix, it won't work unless the drive is plugged in. But it doesn't matter which drive is plugged in, as long as there's a drive in that usb slot. I tried just plugging a usb cable in there but it won't work without an external drive or a usb thumb drive. I don't understand, and wish I knew how to get it to work without any drive plugged in. But at least it's working again

Yeah, I have helix and its great. But I got a tone dialed in with ReValver that I really like and want to use it. Thanks for the recommendation though!

Before you do anything, remove any USB devices you don't need and simply shut down your PC and start it up again.
Just take a cheap little USB stick and put the license on it.

1.) Plug in a usb stick in your machine formated as Fat32

2.) Go to "C:\ProgramData\HeadRush\Shared\license", u'll find a .txt called "license", copy the .txt & drop it inside de usb stick.

yep. didn't help. Only thing that worked was plugging in a drive into a certain USB port on my PC. Even after installing the hotfix

I don't even have to do that. As long as there's a drive in that port, it works. There's no license on any of the drives and it doesn't matter which drive is inserted. As long as there's a memory device in that USB port then it seems to play nice

This sounds exactly like the Line 6 Disk 0 error, so it probably has something to do with ReValver's copy protection. Some software have copy protection that does a hardware check directly at startup, and if a Disk 0 is not present it instantly freezes. For some people with Line 6 software it seems like everything works as long as a Disk 0 is simply present and enabled, but for others the Disk 0 has to be the C: drive with the OS on. Even if you are using a cracked version of Revalver, this part of the copy protection could still be present, so it won't make any difference if you have a legit license or not.

If you are using a stationary machine with re-arrangeable NVMe/SATA ports, you could simply try to change the port that your OS drive is connected to, so that your OS/C: drive shows up as Disk 0 (or if possible on your system, re-arrange the drive numbers from Window Disk Manager). If you are using a laptop this is probably not possible, so in that case you will have to make sure that you always have an external drive connected (as Disk 0) whenever you run Revalver. You should be able to startup Revalver and then remove the external drive, but you need to connect the drive whenever you want to open a new instance of Revalver.

It's a stupid bug, but something that not even Line 6 has properly fixed yet even though people have been complaining about it for at least 5-6 years. It affects every single piece of software they make, so it's not a small bug either.

sounds like that's what I'm dealing with. Although, I just looked at my disk management and my D drive is Disk 0 and it is an internal drive that's always on. The G drive is the one that is making it work but it works also when I have drives labeled R and S in the same slot. I haven't checked again but they may all show up as Disk 3, that's the Disk # of the G drive that is currently allowing Revalver to work. So I'm not sure if any drive plugged into that port will be Disk 3, but any drive plugged into that port will let ReValver work. So it may be slightly different but I think what you said explains it as well as anything I've found. What I don't understand is why it's still a problem after applying the hotfix and I also wonder if it would have ever even worked to begin with had I not had a drive plugged into that slot when I installed ReValver 5... at least it works again. The drive I kept hooked up to that slot showed up as Caution when I did a CrystalDisk S.M.A.R.T. check on the drive health so I thought I would stop leaving it plugged up 24/7 in the hopes that the drive would last longer. So it seems that unplugging that drive is what caused all the problems but now I just have a thumb drive in that port so hopefully I can still keep my drive going.

Thank you Radio! The quote you posted from another user is what saved me. I haven't tried any USB-C but the part about plugging in via regular USB was exactly what I needed. I probably would have never figured it out if not for that. Especially since none of the drives actually had any license files on them. So, thank you again good sir!
