Hey i remember there used to be a tutorial on sos to make a manual pitch shifter "autotune" for vocals using a combinator with the vocoder a malstrom and an nnxt i find reason 5 very interesting and even though we have acces to warez versions 11 and 12 i just like to push reason 5 to the edge anyone has been lucky at getting the autotune effect in reason 5 ? also wasnt there a wrapper avaliable online avaliable to load vst2s in reason 5 ? this would be really convenient

REAL VST support didn't actually hit Reason until v9.5. By "real" I mean VST plugins actually running INSIDE of Reason. There were some kludgey ways folks were trying to get VST's into pre-v9.5 Reason. I vaguely remember that wrapper thing you mentioned. However none of the kludges I ever heard of regarding VST's with pre-v9.5 Reason amounted to very much.

The best way I found to get VST's working with Reason output was with ReWire and a VST/ReWire capable DAW. You can route individual outputs of any Reason device thru ReWire to the DAW and then run any VST plugin on that audio that you want. In your case you could actually just run Auto-Tune in the DAW on whatever Reason audio that you desire. No need to be stringing a bunch of nonsensical Reason devices together when you can get the actual sound of the real plugin itself working on the content. That's the way most folks did it back when Reason 5 was a thing.

VST's will not run natively in Reason 5 by any method I know of... I seem to recall there were folks who were desperately trying to come up with wacky ways of getting them to work inside of Reason. I never really paid much attention to it all because there was always ReWire.

I never used Prophead's Record because I have always run Cubase/Nuendo (which are both ReWire capable) & Protools for DAW's. With Reason 5 you must run Record v1.5.1 (R2R released it in 2021) in order to get proper integration between the two. Since Record is just Propellerheads version of a VST capable DAW the integration between the two via ReWire should work like any other ReWire capable host with Reason as slave. It just involves opening Reason FIRST then opening the DAW (Record) and ReWire should be active between the two.
