So there was this software app i had on a old laptop that no longer works that i am looking for.
it was kinda like "mixed in key" where you could drag n drop a song into it and it would analyze the track and give you the key/scale and on the bottom left you could even transpose it .. and up where the play header is you could even see the chord progression. i remember it being like a dark gray skin but can't for the life of me remember or find the name of the software, you could only do one song at a time but i remember it being super handy in a jam.It was Standalone only. anyone have any ideas?

Once you described it I knew it was Riffstation I used it in the past, Sister site has a portable version search for Sonic Ladder Riffstation 1.6.0.0 Portable, Enjoy I always liked its features and is still a good and useful program

decoda has a nice feature for working around the problem of converting audio to midi in your DAW. You can end up with a million little particles of midi notes that way. You can always add a synth like Serum where you can enable legato and it will reduce the amount of notes which actually get played. (you can just bounce audio and grab the midi that way). Or you can screw with very fast arp setting.

But with decoda, if you go to the export midi/song option; you can draw over the converted particle midi data, and then it will save as midi.

I don't think zplane have any bad plugins, actually.
