i hope the picture is something useable! i was looking through photos my nephew sent me, and there was one of this painting (it looked like garbage though, so i took it from the website).

when i see this picture, i see a women who laid some good pussy/flower on this dude and is aware she has complete control over him, beauty and pussy are powerful things. this months entry pulls from feelings that remind me of myself at a time, learning to navigate dealing with really beautiful women in my position - like this guy in the picture, i was unaware of the power the flower had on me, and oblivious to the level of game a lot of women i come across have - i havent done an entry with digital instruments in a few months so, decided to go that way this month: genres reflect that choice

Thanks for the journey! I felt as if I somehow found myself stuffed into a spin cycle of washing machine while simultaneously getting an incredible Thai massage. By the end of the ride I felt somehow looser and more flexible though but very dizzy and not quite sure of my balance upon exiting.

@Aidene : yo very beautiful interpretation with a lot of feeling, its dark, hypnotic, seductive and a little quirky, but it has a lot of feeling, which i love. also i dig the additional guitar added, especially the nu-metal-y guitar in the middle - i know for me its been different arranging without vocals in this contest; you got the chops still without it and i think this is a good example of that. keep killing it mama

I've been loving listening to the interpretations for this month's Non-Contest and also the interpretations from last month. I will leave comments about the music for those and these submissions soon. This painting invoked a sense of unrequited love... The person in love invests their heart in someone who may not feel the same way, leading to a rollercoaster of emotions. This dynamic creates a poignant narrative that can be both beautiful and heartbreaking. The thrill of infatuation contrasts sharply with the despair of unreciprocated feelings...
Which, inspired some soft experimental pensive ambient piano music! Enjoy!!

There is no lyrical content attached to my interpretation. I tried to imagine a cinematic anime scene, where a wounded soul evolved into some kind of revenge goddess. The theme of a femme fatale. I think blood coming from her eyes and drippin down her hair is not quite a good thing. In the intro I tried to constribute to the vibe of a bed of roses.

 

welllll shit. i made a song/beat on my day off to the picture, not sure how well i feel like it matches though. beat turned out alright but i feel like i fell off the path and just made a song on its own, if that makes sense. what i got from the image was first off red, and the blood on the back and also coming out of her eyes. clearly whatever is going on is something melodramatic so i tried to reflect that. not sure how i feel about the first bass line, i might change it if i go back to this but its done enough to share for this. been adding distortion to synths then sending them into reverbs, been liking how that sounds.

as a cheat i made a song/idea a few months ago that i think matches the picture better in my head. its too repetitive in the arrangement department but is a solid idea i think, so im gonna share that too. i just mixed these today, they're both too hot i think. oops.

 

@macros mk2 : this makes me feel like im in a shady club in a movie; like John Wicks gonna pop up and start choking out mf’s lol - i like the drums boom bap type rhythm the most, has a nice groove

though really the image just has to inspire your piece yo, doesnt have to match, thats just fly shit. i do see how your expression could be clearer though artistically so it does. words like melodrama or red, are vague nouns in terms of sonic expression. so many things create melodrama, theres so many reactions you can have to the color red: passion, anger, lust, cruelty and this that and the third. defining that shit clearer will make expressing it through sound easier, which will connect it and translate what you see with what you hear clearer

but ayo glad you were able to create something and share it with us. just mentioned that sense you keep bringing up your struggle with it
