Last December, Italy announced new regulations that would allow a telecoms administrative body to decide whether Internet sites should remain accessible in the country. With several sites such as The Pirate Bay previously blocked by court order, the AGCOM regulator has just ordered the blocking of its first four torrent sites, no complex legal wrangling needed.

I'm not a torrent fan but...:(

Sorry to hear that man, but there will always be proxy sites for the big torrenting sites. It's a mostly unregulatable thing when you get down to it.

Yes I know, the bad thing is that from now on AGCOM can darken a site immediately and without a lawsuit...just because they think that site holds "not so legit" stuff! :snuffy:

    Bastardi :snuffy:

Bad times. Personally I don't give a hack about torrents, I use them twice in a year maybe, but that's sad to hear.

Here in Italy a fucking civil or penal trial take about 5 years to take place and the biggest tax evader got 4 hours/week of community service
In the US they would have put him in jail and throw away the keys.

And these bastards have now freedom to censure what they want without even passing trough a court. It's an upside down world.

Hopefully just changing the DNS will be enough to jump the block, like with the FFS already blocked here.

In the US and UK, they would have lobbied congress/parliament to change the tax laws to fit with the business model, and then told us that they were completely within their legal boundaries. Then they'd get the promotion.

Yeah, sad but true. That's how it works here too.

But would such a man still be free in any country of the universe except italy?
Sorry don't want to get into politics (I don't give a fucking fuck anymore about politics tbh), it's just for the lulz. That list on wiki make me :lmao:
