It looks like you can uninstall EDGE after all, I haven't found the time to test it yet. Please read the article to the end.

    The inevitable path of "debloating"

    >I'm gonna uninstall a bunch of things that don't need to be uninstalled and won't actually increase the performance of my device.
    >Why my device broken? Why features no work?

You can in EU because EU forced Microsoft to have it as an option essentially, though Microsoft legally challenged it. BUT, bits of Windows use the Edge code, as I understand it, to do other things that are critical to Windows. Therefore, uninstalling Edge is NOT recommended as far as I have read, but disabling it as a browsed and the browser functions should be fine.

I know, but it still asked for the PIN, but then had nothing to check it against or validate it I presume, which is why I couldn't do anything.

You want at least two browsers installed anyway. You want to go into Windows Settings and set the browser you DON'T plan on using as the default browser and firewall that one.

Because then any program that attempts to launch a link will be redirected into the dead-default browser.

Links launched from programs can collect and submit any information, like MAC address, software you have installed, account name, email addresses, your browser's password store, software integrity status etc to any server (Fabfilter plugins used to do this, malware might try to).

Once of the first things to do if building with a OEM iso is to remove the fuck out of EDGE. More than likely what you're seeing is all the edge update garbage trying to do updating/telemetry plus there are various scheduled tasks that involve edge updating. You can "uninstall" edge and edge webview thru "ad/remove programs" but it will still leave a lot of underlying edge trash. I just run a ultrasearch for "microsoft edge" and delete everything in the system32 and other in-path areas. You will need a take ownership tool to run against that stuff due to the hardened sec levels they place on all of it. The mickeysofters obviously do not want you using "other code" for browsing because it blows their data collection/spyware scheme out of the water...

Why do you need a PIN for logging onto a local machine? Are you leaving machines perma connected to the internet and logging onto a mickeysoft account or something (not recommended)?
