Mainly for Windows, but wondering what the recommendations are for browsers currently? It's be good to have something that is:

    • not a resource hog
    • has a dark theme
    • can import browsing history, favourites, passwords, autofill info etc from Microsoft Edge (if other than Edge)
    • is more privacy oriented rather that a data hoarder
    • has plugins or built in functionality to block ads
I've been seeing and reading good things about Brave, but wondering what others are out there and what views from this trusted community

I like Floorp recently (Japanese fork of Firefox), Brave being second option,
for their search, I use selfhosted Searxng (aggregating google+duckduckgo+brave results),
for content blocking, I use uBlock Origin extension

Brave is absolutely shady, I have no idea why anyone would use it. Nowadays I stick to Vivaldi and Zen (Firefox fork).

I use Vivaldi for productivity/work kind of things, since it's great just for that, tools up the wazoo. Firefox + extensions for everything else.

I might on the occasionally use something third if I desperately need a 3rd geolocation at the same time.

I never thought I'd say this one day, but Edge is the best browser around, in my opinion.

I choose not to be groomed by Big Data to pretend that personal identifiers in exchange for content is an even trade.

Amazing, I kept trying to remove Edge from Windows until I finally got it right.

Edge will protect me from every threat on Earth, except Microsoft...deleted.

I use Firefox with all telemetry disabled. Adblock Plus and Nocript.

I also have Opera as a backup, but it's a bit meh!

I did that with Ie from Win7 .

I am not so sure on brave search results. It's not so good here.

what do you mean? as far as i know, Brave is one of the most secure and private browsers available.

I use brave, but also have been interested in and using Arc. Arc is really cool because of the different profiles you can set up and easily switch through. You can have all music stuff in one profile, all financial stuff in another, etc

Why would you use it? It's just Chrome (or Chromium, resp.) with an already build-in ad blocker and some crypto scam on top:
