Does anyone knows how to have more than 16 outputs in Superior Drummer 3?

Or any tricks for doing that.

I was thinking about sending everything to audio, but to be honest I don't know how to do it for all the buses at one.

I'll go have a look see if I can find a way, but seriously, why on earth would you NEED more than 16 outputs?


What if you were to create 2 instances of SD 3 and route the outputs accordingly?


I think there might be a way to have 32 mono outputs, but I'm looking into that now

I'm using an older version of Ableton .. Version 10 and it isn't possible here, but now with version 12?? I cant say..

Ok, thanks! Having two instances could be an option.

 

I suppose you could use two instances duplicate your kit and then just route each instance how you want.

You have 16 stereo outputs. Each can be send to stereo bus and pan max left and right. Then send them to mono bus. You will get 32 mono.
I have it setup like this in studio one.
In Cubase You will gat natively 32 mono channels.

 

Depends on DAW capability to assign/select mono receive instead of stereo. Easily done in Reaper as an example.

Using a kit from the core library with five toms such as the Pearl Masterworks, the assignments would look like:

• Kick In > Out 1/2 Left (receive is selected as mono 1 for DAW output channel/track. Repeat as needed per track.)
• Kick Out > Out 1/2 Right
• Kick Sub > Out 3/4 Left
• Snare Top > Out 5/6 Left
• Snare Btm > Out 5/6 Right
• Hi-Hat > Out 3/4 Right
• Rack 1 > Out 7/8 Left
• Rack 2 > Out 7/8 Right
• Rack 3 > Out 9/10 Left
• Floor 1 > Out 9/10 Right
• Floor 2 > Out 11/12 Left
• OH Dyn > Out 13/14
• OH Cond > Out 15/16
• Amb Rib > Out 17/18
• Amb Near > Out 19/20
• Amb Mid > Out 21/22

11 mono receives, 5 Stereo receives, 5 Stereo or 10 mono remaining.

* Each mono send in SD3 is panned hard left or hard right.
Don't forget to pan hi-hat & toms from mono position.
