Hi, is it possible to save an automation as a preset?
I actually have a filter run in each of my beats in the intro or before the hook which I automate with the Pro-Q.
I usually do it on my melody bus.
Is there a way to save this filter run as a preset so that I only have to drag the vst preset onto the clip?

Create the effect in a plugin and save it there as a preset. Something like Shaperbox.

    Thank you for the idea

    Which DAW?

As a preset absolutely not, but just save the settings of the plugin and the automation as a track, lane or whatever!

Just save a template project/arrangement of that plugin/automation/track whatever on its own with your DAW. In Logic you can import tracks from other projects into the current one. But it sounds like you need this automation for every new project that you make, so just begin with that saved template and build your full track around that template.

You can copy automation from one region to another like this, but this will get really old if you are not into using template project. Any plugin that lets you have it effect a large amount of time will work. But usually a standard modulator will not let you draw many bars of data points. Shaperbox will let you do many bars of data points, long enough to do something like this. Maybe something older from iZotope, or u-he Filterscape types of plugins. In Logic, we could probably do something like use a Midi Transform, and there you can actually save presets such as crescendos and so on. It's called Create New Transform Set. Maybe something close in S1? I think a plugin based method is going to be your easiest and best option.

I'm not sure about other DAWs but in Ableton you can drag the track out and save in the user presets, then drag it back in and copy the automation to the track in the project you want to use the automation on.

I apologize, that was a mistake I just found, while I was reading I had my son up and he was cooking, I really wanted to ask first what DAW you were using because I only think you can do that if you save the track as a Track preset and import it, but I don't know if S1 lets you import automation like Ableton.

Another thing many people do is once they get everything they like a specific way to their taste, is to remove all the audio and MIDI if applicable, and save the DAW project as a template.

thank you all, i think the easiest way is really with shaperbox and a template where i have the automation inside from the beginning.... i wish there was such a function in s1 that you can save automation clips as presets
