Man, I'm sorry about that.
It's become common practice for these sh*tholes of internet thieves to treat their customers like criminals.
What's really disgusting is that these bastards behave like judges, prosecutors and jurors all rolled into one. Case closed.
If it wasn't for such a small sum, I would take them to court.
But maybe that's exactly the trick: 1 million times $18 is $18m

Is this normal? The feeling is really awful, it's not just about feeling deceived, but like they are mocking you. If you put in hundreds of hours to make music, pay for distribution platforms, and then a day after paying over hundreds of dollars, you get an email with no explanation, not even a reply option, and AMUSE doesn't even have an email to send a complaint. I’m just sharing this in case it happens to anyone else, I don't understand the situation.

I don't thinks it's normal, but common practice to an extent to make the customer the criminal. And he has to prove that he's not.

Internet companies never have a real personal relationship with a single customer. So it's easy to treat someone like that.
If the customer were to experience such treatment in person, the guy who dared to do this would have to expect the customer to jump over the desk at him.

You're right. Corrected my post.
What I want to say is that you can successfully defend yourself against these supposedly overpowering corporations, because they also have to comply with the law.
However, this is easier or more difficult depending on jurisdictions.

I would therefore check for the future which law applies before concluding contracts and check existing contracts before it gets more interesting for the company to cancel it than to stick with it.

 

And what's next? Is there any website on the internet with decent people that allows you to publish music?

Just wait until the ToS say you owe them money for making less than $100 / year.

 

The only one who makes real money are theses services.
What would happen, if any musician would boycott such crap and release their music by them own (own shop) or using fair services such as bandcamp

has become silent here this year on that topic but i think the names always changed a bit .
if you want seroius money you must use all and manage to not make minus in the beginning , step by step .
if you go this route you must make use of social media marketing in succesful way .
i just know this from people who showing that way on yt using it at the same time as marketing.
...but their listener pool was young ppl , so you can imagine the genres .

if you have at least 1 uploadable good track a week , i would go yt route , but need to be static forever and accelerating tactics
genre is everything
when i see clicks of channels just uploading old absolute legendary well known artists appart from the absolute topseller superstarartists, its so sad .

 

The thing I find the hardest to digest is they call themselves 'amuse'..NOTHING about it is amusing!

its shit like this that makes me furious. Predatory corporations scamming artist. Im even upset with my publisher. Ive pulled in over a million dollars in revenue for them over the years, and they fight me on an advance when re-signing my deal, offering me pennies. We're getting screwed from every angle. Something needs to change, i dont know what, but yah. Sorry you are dealing with this, and hope that its resolved.
