    Guys, I know using these are not as easy as using something like Fabfilter. That's exactly why there's a thread for Nebula Guides and Fixes and not one for Fabfilter. Most people haven't even parsed through the tips or beginner's reference completely before they start shitting.

    This thread is to make it easier for people to use it. It's pretty much abandon-ware nowadays. The only thing that still brings it up is it's quality. There are thousands of good looking plug-ins that get the job done, but still people buy a 100,000$ Harrison 32C. It's just like a new hardware that'll require learning. It's not like even if you have a real API/SSL/Neve you're gonna expect just great sound without learning each ones pecularities. Why then does a studio even need engineers if it's full of hardware worth millions, sound should just pass through it and come out as heralds of god.

    The thread is open to criticism if done practically. If there are errors, post them, that's exactly what the thread is about. If you're just spitting the worst without rhyme or reason, it's just very disheartening to even engage.

    OK OK.. reports received and while I somewhat agree with them, at this point there are too many return comments, mixed bag opinions and replies with quotes to go through and sort things out without deleting half of this thread, so from here on out lets all just try to stay on topic .. "Nebula Guides & Fixes" only please and thank you :wink:

    i wouldnt call it abandon-ware. Tim P just put out two new libraries, cupwise is launching updates as well. Ive also heard rumors of something official coming from Acustica. Some update or something. They have recently updated it as well, engine fix, i think bringing M1 AAX compatibility.

    Hi people, i am using nebula for quite a while now but what i couldn't get my head around is the handling of sample rate conversion etc. it seems like compressor parts which are only doing the compression and are not specified (like i think most of timp) don't relate to samplerate, so even when youre working at 96 n4 settings show 44.1->44.1. but of course that's not the case for processors that are specified for a fixed sample rate. if i am using a 48khz preamp it should run in a 48k project. but what confuses me is when i once reached out to alexb because i wanted to buy the fenix red lib which is only available at 44/96 and i am working mostly at 48 i wanted to know if there is some way to use it on 48 anyways and he told me something similar to: "that's no problem, nebula will do the conversion just for you, just use 96khz" and when i am looking at the info in n4 it shows 96->48. i was surprised but thought ok that's cool really great if it's so easy. maybe alexb referred only to the compression process but when u are trying preamps and filters it becomes very obvious that, at least for me, this doesn't work at all. frequency response and harmonics are all over the place, eqs most of the time have a deep cut in the highs and the filter center points are at wrong values. despite who knows what is going on what we can't see at first glance. a similar problem occurs to me when i am trying to oversample n4 using metaplugin, reaper or patchworks. this time it's upsampling from e.g. 48->192 and this throws off the response as well only in a different pattern. another thing i tried was using high quality conversion to upsample e.g. 48khz files to 96 and then working in a 96 project with 96khz libs. and it sounded ok so far but i don't feel comfortable doing unnecessary conversion causing potential harm to the audio. so now i am always using native rates and correct libs as intended, but i am curious about the experience of others.i also searched through azzimovs and timp's advices, am i missing something? how are u people dealing with aliasing? is there any way to get rid of it in a reliable way? is oversamplng something AA wants to gatekeep from n4 for exclusivity on aquas? (and didn't want to say something bad about alex, maybe it just wasn't well communicated). hope my questions/thoughts are in the right place on this thread.
    Best.

    N4 has been my most used in all my mixes. And now TimP with the Opto1b is amazing. Kills softube and other cl1b emulations. After getting all setup with the different libraries there is no issues.

    Me personally I don't deep dive with plugin doctor or go into aliasing. If the library I use sounds good is the mix and I don't hear it destroying anything then it works for me. I've never had a client say oh I heard aliasing on the track or anything like that.

    I have a lot of plugins from different companies that I use occasionally but my n4 setups is most valuable that sound best to my ears that has real quality. I would recommend it a thousand times every time.

    OK.
    I have scoured the first post (and the entire thread for that matter) in this thread for ANY kind of how-to regarding installing this CORE Nebula stuff so that it all coexists together with both itself AND the ACQUA stuff on the same system.

    Here's the info I have NOT been able to definitively find ANYWHERE regarding Nebula and ACQUA;

    1 - HOW TO INSTALL THE CORE NEBULA 3 AND CORE NEBULA 4 SO THAT THEY BOTH COEXIST PEACEFULLY

    2 - HOW TO INSTALL CORE NEBULA 3 & 4 ON A SYSTEM THAT ALREADY HAS A FUCNTIONING ACQUA CORE FRAMEWORK SO THAT ALL COEXIST PEACEFULLY ON THE SAME SYSTEM WITHOUT HAVING TO REINSTALL ANYTHING

    Can someone just lay it out simply and concisely once and for all please???
