kontakt player is sufficient if just playing libraries. it come with phrase and chords tools with full presets. can also create custon leap kits and save them. basiclly all advertised new features for free. loads faster too.

 

Yes...Seriously!

1. Load 7 on one track & 8 on another using the same library. Turn off all internal effects & round robin (note variations),
2. Create a simple one bar loop & make sure both tracks are peaking at the same level. Now solo back & forth.
3. Next flip phase/polarity. What tonal or field differences are you hearing?
4. Next try different matching libraries using the above steps. Again...What tonal or field differences are you hearing?

• The last test done so far was using the Archetype Beatdown library for 7 & 8 on separate tracks into a bus track.
• Created simple 1 bar loop
• Turned off anything available that could vary sound & notes
• Turned on sequencer mode & started DAW playback
• Each track peaking at -4dbfs without any volume adjustment
• Bus peaking at -1.1dbfs, peaking at -54dbfs with phase flipped on one track (does not completely null)
• Listened for normal tonal differences.

Making the effort to educate myself on any basic differences before diving into the new additions & tools.

 

Each library behaves differently. From stereo field imaging to tonality. Good interface, monitors/headphones & focus will reveal all.

 

Genuinely no idea what has even changed with each new Kontakt version since 5. Looks, feels and performs the same...

 

since kontakt sits on top of the old reaktor audio engine and since this was the best they ever did done together with reaktor in common , i dont think so .

 

I'm so happy Native Instruments found a way to sell MIDI packs through Kontakt now!

 

Well, people don't use any new features in Kontakt, it's just a tool to consume all those libraries.

Fuck it, I'd use the new features in 7 were they overhaul the scripting system to something sane.

 

The big problem with initial 8.0 release is that many libraries does not show up. This problem is being discussed on NI forum. I won Komplete 13 CE, and none of those libraries showed up in K8 browser. Meanwhile everything still works fine in K6 and K7. So clearly this new K8 was a rush to market and needs a hotfix. Legit users should not encounter this. What's the point of being a customer??

 

i dare to say that creativly sucsesful ppl dont care for such update shitism....spending hours to to get their rigs runnin like before...just to be able run the next fancy lib ,while having allready 300...
and if we honest the only reason to update kontakt since half of a decade is for beeing able to run newest lib...
nice business model ,isnt it ...
but ni is so woke or gifts maschine to refugees pushing worldwide edm scene ,NOT
they still think they push electronic scene like in 98-2010

 

Kontakt is like Ableton : every update MAY fix some bugs ... but introduce even more.
PS : and kill the workflow too

I'd love to hear the a/b'd audio on that if you don't mind, (and apparently you have already set up the conditions and experiment, so just a bounce of a few bars would be sufficient) or the null difference....

I would advise BOB DULE version. It's always the simplest and easiest method.

 

It does seem a bit more streamlined in regards to loading multiple libraries yes.

 

I believe that upcoming updates in the tools section will become quite good. Right now the 2 tools we have are great but I think they'll get quite creative and price them up.

 

Let's be honest, reactor could use some serious tlc. It's great but it needs a major update.
