How to Get & Install Sektor v1.6.4 Content in Windows 10/11

The Initial R2R content seems to have been removed along with any instructions in the comments section. This left me with figuring out what to do after downloading the macOS release.

The R2R Windows release contains the standalone app, plug-ins & keygen only. You will
not be able to activate the app/plug-in until the "Factory" content is installed correctly.

The default content location in Windows is:
C:\Users\(user_name)\AppData\Roaming\IgniteVST\Sektor
Download the Initial.Audio.Sektor.v1.6.4.macOS.Incl.Keygen-R2R macOS release which contains
the additional Sektor Content.

You will also need 7Zip to smoothly open the extracted "Sektor.pkg" file.

Steps to extract "IgniteVST" folder from "Sektor.pkg" :

• right-click "Sektor.pkg" & choose 7zip > Open Archive (don't extract)
• inside the 7Zip file manager dbl-click "Sektor.pkg"
• dbl-click "Payload"
• dbl-click "Payload~" (will open archive inside 7Zip)
• dbl-click the no-name folder with the period
• dbl-click "Library"
• dbl-click "Application Support"
• left-click & drag "the "IgniteVST" folder from 7Zip to your desired archive location first or right-click & choose copy to your desired archive location.
• archive the extracted "IgniteVST" folder with WinRar or 7Zip & move the archive to your normal archive storage drive location.

Now copy/move the IgniteVST folder to:
C:\Users\(user_name)\AppData\Roaming\IgniteVST\Sektor (default location)

or

your preferred location for example:
E:\Instrument Libraries\IgniteVST

Next, open the Sektor standalone app & point to the location of the "Sektor" folder inside the "IgniteVST folder". If all went as expected, you should now be at the activation window. Now:

• copy the code presented
• open the "InitialAudio_Keygen", selector "Sektor from the menu, paste the code & generate action serial #
• copy the serial & paste into the Sektor activation window

You should now have the full interface to setup the audio routing, MIDI & GUI.

Additional content with the "sektorExpansion" suffix can be installed as described in the
Importing/installing an Expansion section of the Sektor manual.

Is Factory content 1.5 compatible as well ?

 

Had the Deep Bass Riddims & Love Trap expansions from 2021 installed & working. Found these on torrent site. Testing for my son.

 

Have been trying to find this version after being taken down from sister site. Also good to know how to properly install factory content out in the wild (no installer as shown in manual & video). Seems to have a thin sound compared to other wavetable based soft-synths. Reminds me of Nexus or SampleTank. Prefer Vital over this for sure.

You're welcome. Thought it may be of use to those who at a loss like me. Agree that the sound is somewhat thin in comparison to other Wavetable based software synths. Will install on my son's system & let him decide own his own (without my input).
