In one of the harshest moves a search engine can take against a site, during the past few hours Google flagged torrent site Demonoid as likely to harm users' computers. After arriving at the conclusion that malicious third-party ads had caused the problem, Demonoid responded by disabling every single advert on its site until further notice.

Mark my words: Google will be whoring it out to the cartels in no time. I read an article recently where they were in talks with some big names and there were words such as promising thrown around. Not enough people are getting involved and so those that get paid big money dictate policy. You snooze, you lose.

Screw you Google, I'm going home.

But not before I thank you for this share. [IMG]

The thing that sucks is that's how they get you: free shit. Hey we've got this super search engine and it works better than these guys, oh and how about a new e-mail account. Add to that the paid stuff like Google Glass, a million other atrocities, oh and we're also working on a cure for death...wait what? Of course the people at the top pushing us into a dictatorship over what amounts to copyright money are the mafiaa who don't get it yet: YOU ARE OBSOLETE, BE A GOOD DINOSAUR AND DIE ALREADY.

bottom right hand corner click on the link "ignore this warning"

takes you to the homepage, the site may have been hacked (or a script is running showing signs of a virus) which is why it has been flagged as a potential threat (automated)

edit: posted on the front page

    "Blacklisted

    Hello guys,
We run content from a lot of ad networks in our ad banners, and a lot of banners from each

One of those banners started serving malware, so we disabled all ads until we are 100% sure of the culprit and get it removed. We are also taking the proper steps to get us out of all the blacklists.

Thanks for your understanding and sorry for the hassle.
    - The Demonoid Site Staff"

blame the advertisers, not google, Audioz has also experienced dodgy adverts

I agree, I'm sure google have their own agenda, but it doesn't take much effort to get a site blacklisted. :mates:

It`s exacly what i meant. The page stays completly blank.
No chance without VPN (is required anyway for using torrents in Germany. You will get sued rather sooner then later).

Yeah guys if you use torrents pretty much anywhere then use a VPN, I even give some free providers on my AudioZ Blocked In Your Country? thread. Don't let them take what little you have simply because you forgot to use one. I still don't see lawsuits as a deterrent against piracy, they just alienate people against the very companies that they are downloading.

Duck Duck Go search algorithms are sadly lacking in comparison. That's why it's such an insidious problem, Google has weaved themselves into the fabric of our daily lives and it's not so easy to find real alternatives.

:dunno: They are in the U.S...no?
I use rather startpage.com located in NL. You get 100% Google Search & some useful customizations.

There`s a bunch of free ones but...provider can still see your taffic maybe...download speed is sh.., etc.
    Anyway this http://www.vpngate.net/en/
has quite a list of servers to choose from, some are fast depending on your location.
