somehow i ended up on vengeance's webpage again after many many years, and i couldn't find any mention of a dongle.
before writing an e-mail to the support (which is not known to be the best one around, i know...), i was wondering: do you know if they dropped the dongle altogether? not interested in avenger, but: metrum and a few more of their older plugins
    thanks

    There is no dongle anymore.
They use their own auth scheme. Quite uncomplicated tbh.

Yes, they've dropped E-Licenser and Vengeance plugins now use their own machine-based licensing through V-Manager.
All I had to do is to email support when this change happened and they converted my licenses to new system.

that is great to hear, thanks for the answers.
i was planning on getting metrum and both the essential fx suites.

what are your opinions on Phalanx, Glitch Bitch and Tape Stop?
glitch bitch and tape stop i'm pretty sure can be replaced by something else, probably some free plugins for sure, but it's nice to have them i guess (apparently there's a discount right now)

I don't have Phalanx so I can't tell, but Glitch Bitch always works great for me. Suprisingly, very stable too

I´ve bought Metrum and Phalanx recently.
Both of them are quite decent, I regulary use them in my productions.
Can´t tell anything about the other plugins, tho. But there are other good options, imho.

hi mate, thanks for your answer.
i'm just wondering: how do you use phalanx? as a one-shot machine when you need more control or layering?

Phalanx has 2 versions, a single channel plugin (with 2 sample slots) for layering , and a 16 channel multi-output version (which also has 2 sample slots per channel). Normaly, I use Phalanx Single as a oneshot layering tool and the other as a Drum Sampler with multiple outputs, or even as a drum kit with only one output.

And a very nice bonus is, when you also own Metrum, all the included Samples and presets are also available in the Phalanx Content section.

Normally you can activate the Vengeance plugins on 3 machines.
If you've got a PC and a laptop the installation utility/activator counts down the activations until you reach 0.
When "Activations remaining reaches 0 you can't activate a new computer.
But you can deactivate an old one you don't use anymore.

To do so go to the "Avenger Account" internet page > Account details.
    https://www.vps-avenger.com/account
At the bottom of the page you'll find "Your Activated Codes and System IDs". There you can see all activations shown by plugin or system ID and you can delete any of them if you need to.

It is sometimes a bit confusing what you need the "VMan" for and what you need the "Avenger Account" internet page for. :)

They’re actually really responsive on their FB page. Might be worth checking that out. Their devs are always adding content and also answering questions. The members also help out a lot too.

Any plugins which no longer require the dongle, they’ll give you a code to input into V-Man and redeem the newer version.
