Your thoughts and experience?

 

1) plugins that rely on iLok
2) plugins that rely on online activation servers
3) plugins with no support from developer when it comes to bugfixes and updated OS support

 

I don't mind buying plugins with iLok or online activation IF(!) there's a k'd version available. Peace of mind for the remote chance of the company going belly up together with their activation servers.

 

I do online activation if there is an alternate "try before you buy" but never from an iFok'd company.

 

The Complicated Ones: I don't use these at all, I neither need nor want a compressor with 32 parameters.

The ‘All You Can Eat Buffet’ Plugins: Are basically all synths and drum VSTis like Inferior Drummer (), ADD, or BFD. Either you know what you're getting yourself into, or you learn the hard way. Since I'm a former keyboarder and sound twister, I like it this way.

The Crash Test Dummies: There're enough quick and deep reviews to avoid these.

Conclusion, I've none of the difficulties this guy has, I use my brain instead.
