As the title suggests, I'm looking for an effective but at the same time gentle plugin that can reduce the amount of reverb on some classical string quartets that, in my opinion, are produced with too much reverb.

Can someone recommend such a plugin and perhaps supplement with some experience with the above problem?

Accentize De-Room Pro, Accusonus ERA 6 Reverb Remover Pro, Thimeo Stereo Tool (boost), or RX would be some of your usual options. Or a combination of them. They are generally not magic without any work.

I'm using Supertone Clear. Fast and easy

 

An old trick, try to brighten the sound to gain clarity, articulation and narrow the stereo width

 

Toneboosters' latest EQ has a reverb filter. That way, you can target the frequency that bothers you the most.

Tried Zynaptiq Unveil with StudioOne 5 = didnt work that well after I burned it down on CD.
