Keep getting the following message anytime a download link is used from Rapidgator:

"You have reached your daily downloads limit. Please try again later.
Don`t want to wait? Upgrade to Premium and forget about delays!"

Is this because the uploader's account is being used heavily?

Anything we/I need to know or understand about using their service?

Is this just a temporary glitch?

Thanks in advance for anyone with a valid answer!

Updated note:
Firefox seems to have turned search history features on with latest update (130.0). Went to settings & turned off search history while making sure clear history on exit was checked.

Could not turn off trending search function in settings. Went into about:config & search for "trending". Set all trending search flags to false.

Hopefully this, along with the DNS option suggested will remedy the Rapidgator & similar issues.

I just obediently follow their rules as they run a pretty tight ship. VPNs haven't helped in my experience either.

Are you leaving enough time (> 2 hours) between trying to download files? It's slow but I've used RapidShare for years.

 

if you use a vpn,even a demo one; and change sometime the country location ,it will do it!

 

Leaving more than two hours between download. Not using any VPN. Issue popped up this passed Saturday evening. Attempted to use again this morning & received the same message (around 4 a.m). Tried again just before posting this thread.

Have also tried with uBlock Origin turned off with same result.

 

VPN did not work for Rapidgator but, did work for Katfile which usually throws up a daily limit immediately (9 oout of 10). Weird, weird, weird...

 

Have you had experience doing this with RapidShare? I've had no luck using Opera browser's in-built VPN

 

I have had hit & miss success with various takes on VPN over the years. Limited free, open-source & free (I am in Western Canada).
Currently using TouchVPN in Firfox & Vivaldi with Best Choice option most of the time. Above 90% for my use case.

 

as a test try clean opera with nothing on....
my guess is its vpn ...ip's blacklisted...
no need for vpn for this anyways unless you expect ultra major shift in www laws and penaltys

Resetting routing provided no joy. Oh well...Will have to wait for any torrent post while using katfile alone for now.

 

Opera built-in free VPN works great for simple websites, obviously not for top-secret privacy. But for news websites that limit how many articles you can read per day, or for ffs sites, it is decent. It's also slow, but on those ffs it's not going to be much slower. Slowing them down more would be like getting blood from a stone.

 

I do it all the time. turn off then back on.

there is a reason onion tactics exist ...when you simply dont want get your traffic data yielded must go tor/tails or real bouncer times 20 ...all these vpn services which only a few are bouncing proper will snitch you out in a splitsecond if laws change or the right office knocks
they log everything ....

NordVPN works fine for me, ProtonVPN in the past as well. Both have shady business tactics though, so keep that in mind. It's safer to buy redeem codes from Amazon. But you're better off not using a VPN than a pirated or free one.

Not a single issue while using RG (using JDownloader with two simultaneous downloads and 4 threads) for years now. The only issue I got was the fair-use policy of Premiumize.me or simply written, I was blocked by the owner of Premiumize.me downloading from their precious RG shared accounts construction. He suggested I got myself a RG account after putting in a service request. Not that an emaii, stating a violation has been made would be handy. It took me hours searching, unstalling, scratches my head and other parts, router resets and pfSense logdiving, ;)....

I'm using NordVPN, fixed on NordLynx and on the servers at AMS-IX. I disabled the security stuff because it gives headaches from time to time. Most of the time the VPN servers near me here somewhere in the UK give me strange behaviour in regard to strange speed drops and threads that remain open without reason which is almost the same as if your account stops working. Therefore The Netherlands is my goto connection country. Love the Dutchies, they know their stuff. We all love Fabfilter don't we? Best would be ProtonVPN security wise but downloading in The Netherlands is still legalish, just like their Dub related plant growth policy. Not that kniw anything else about that, I only drink tea in a Dutch coffee shop.

 

You really shouldn't disregard half a comment and then elaborate on the half you disregarded. Otherwise, you are just belaboring the point. The first post says no vpn is in use, so using one just to fake a source to a FFS is not any worse off. It's like temporarily changing the interface's MAC address. If that is what you are relying on, you have a different problem that none will solve. Including TOR.

Also, speed is not really an issue if you have to do a cheapo workaround like this. Once your download starts, (or in my case, news article opens); you can just disable it and the connection will switch to your normal connection "tunnel".

Clearly I've got a lot to learn wrt VPNs as half of this stuff goes over my head

 

Here's what come to my mind:

1) RG's IPs may be blacklisted by your ISP
2) Your ISP may have implemented CGNAT. In this case, you may be sharing the SAME public IP as other 100, 500 or 1000 users. That would explain why RB detects your IP has already downloaded stuff from them and must wait.
