Don't listen to trolls (by some comments, they've been around here too, unfortunately).
Try another hobby (painting, drawing, photography, etc). Physical exercise helps a great deal. Start with walks in the nature (the comment above about running is extremely good advice).
When everything turns grey for a long time, it is probably time to look for professional help.
    Take care.

Bro, the fact that you even posted how you are feeling is a great start, at least you have recognised that everything is feeling a bit much for you right now. I would try and understand what the main downers are and try to either fix them or remove them from your life.

If music is your main interest, but the creative brakes are currently on why not look at something like Ninjam or JamTaba to jam online with other musicians live, you will meet lots of interesting people and musicians, some good, some not so much, but it's a social thing, and it might alleviate your creative block, and you might actually enjoy it.

You have to push yourself, and only you can make a change.

    Good luck fella

It's amazing how little empathy a human being can have.

Lot of heavy drug users in there.

Heroin is one helluva drug, takes away ALL the pain, `comfortably numb`, but also eats your soul, destroys relationships, and is kinda expensive.:dont:

    Still fucking great tho!!! :bleh:

Magic Max, look for things that make you happy (but know that the problem with doing lots of what you like, all the time, is that it is an illusion 'cos living involves dealing with situations that we don't like and yes, we need to do that), no matter what they are, the company of your cat, testing a new plugin, a beer in a pub with friends or even a visit to the doctor and a psychologist to adjust/modify your medication. It is important to be aware of what you are feeling. Look for people who are really close to you and, as difficult as it may be, try to have a broader perspective. There is a sense of disenchantment going around these days. It is important to counter this. Feel free to talk about what makes you uncomfortable (just follow the rules!)

You could buy a bike and go out on beautiful countryside rides.

Take up fishing, outdoors and getting a sweet dopamine hit when you hook that `big one`.

Yoga is meant to be fantastic, not only for your tired old muscles, but for mental health too. Same with taking up salsa or somesuch dancing. You're out, meeting new folk, excersising and having a good time.

Thing is, your old joys ain't joyful no more. So go find new fun. Then, once you can see the joy of life, you can translate it back into music.

Or, just go buy a bag!!!

Wondering why you chose to make such a respectless comment in the first place, when you could have chosen to just ignore and browse through? - Was this comment really necessary?

Just to let you know, now just about every time that I take a leak I can't help but to think of you. You once mentioned how your prostate is so swollen that after you piss right afterwards it feels like you have to pee again. Well, I'm in the same boat. Thank you for being such an influencer. Don't sell yourself short and take heart, if you have had such an impact on me think about your impact coud be on the greater world around you.

Going for my 1-2h daily walk before the sun goes down. It keeps me somewhat sane, oh well - it helps. I shall edit this post later as I have stuff to tell you, mate. @Magic Max It breaks my heart that you feel that way. :( I kinda been there on the edge last couple of years, too. You know that...

If it doesn't excite you anymore, search for something that does. Don't keep doing it for years and be miserable. It doesn't really matter what it is that excites you, but don't continue doing what you are doing, if it does not. Just make sure what excites you doesn't lead to you ending up in prison, because that is not very exciting, at least not in the long run.
Anyway, you should change something if you are depressed or miserable all the time, because you don't find joy anymore in what you do.

@Magic Max The best thing anyone can do when they're not feeling good about themselves is to reflect and be grateful for all of the small mercies and good people you've been blessed to have in your life, for most, if not all of your life. Just an observation.
The issue with older age is that the physical can no longer keep up with the desire to be as a active as when in your 20s.

Getting excited about things when you have seen so much in your life can be difficult, no argument. The important thing and also hardest, is not to think about what you've missed or lost, but what you gained and who you were blessed to meet by an occurrence that did not go as planned or hoped. It sounds way too positive to say everything happens for a good reason even if it does not seem like it at the time, but it is not inaccurate. Remembering why we started writing and playing in the first place is a good start.

no shit I bought a vespa three years ago and it has influenced my outlook in tremendous ways; I'm always making up reasons (market for food, sending a package to friend/post office etc etc) to ride it. A fantastic escape from studio walls; definitely take the long way
