Behringer ultra DI - 400 Noise Issue

Discussion in 'Soundgear' started by MusicMaker2023, Sep 5, 2024.

  1. Hello everyone,

I've just bought a Behring Ultra DI - 400 for use in my studio, as when using my Stratocaster and Telecaster in the HI-ZI input of my Apollo Twin MK2, on some Amplitube presets, there was so much hum and noise and was advised to get a DI box.

When I plug everything in, the guitar to the DI Box and then out to the Apollo Twin, I can barely get the input on the Apollo Twin up to half way before things start noise starts getting introduced, but also, when I enable the 'lift' switch, there is so much noise, like interference etc.

    Why is this?
    Anyone able to help?

    Thanks

RF interference? Have you ever tried it with a different interface at your location?

I once had to build a faraday cage to cut out interference for recording guitars in a fairly heavily populated municipal locale....

  4. It turns out it was a faulty socket...all my equipment in the studio is earthed and we traced it back to the socket where the power extension for the studio was. Turns out it was missing ground for some reason, so we replaced the socket and all is good now.
