    Gum Tree
razzled and dazzled and frazzled, yeah
    baffled, dismantled and addled, yeah
i’ll feel better, you’ll feel better soon

i dropped down the gum tree

    tumbling for life

    never saw it coming

    so soon

    bedraggled, finagled, entagled, yeah
    maliced and calloused totalis, yeah
    a thrown together blown endeavor

i dropped down the gum tree

    tumbling for life

    never saw it coming

    so soon

    i fell down and down
    and things were looking up
the gum tree i fell down

i dropped down the gum tree

    tumbling for life

    never saw it coming

    so soon

Learn to play your instrument. After that you can think about originality.

Back in ye olde days Warner Brothers produced a series of sampler albums called the loss leader series and usually one of the four sides would have all the weird shit on it like the Mothers of Invention, Wild Man Fisher and The Fugs. This puts me in mind of that kind of stuff... maybe that's why I like it, nostalgia  I don't know if it's objectively good but I really enjoyed listening to it.

At my high school The Gum Tree was a beautiful grandmother oak just outside of the main entrance. Because chewing gum was prohibited students (and faculty) would deposit their chewed, gooey maw in the folds of her bark which over 80 years became quite a scene to behold. Perhaps you are an alumni too and this is the impetus behind your song, climbing up the tree after smoking a fat one while hanging out in her canopy and tumbling down because you were so high. If so, I dig your song!

    Gooooooo Fighting Beavers!!!

@gumhoof these guys are kidding you!
Music must have more than 1000 elements:
Order, feeling, structure, elegance, new words or at least old ones in a perfectly formatted way, characteristics, personality and everything else. Without these features, you can't make any claim or special opinion.
In my opinion, start working on the principles of music and don't listen much to subjectivists.

Sounds like you bring alot of rules to an art form, that in my opinion, gets a large chunk of value from its subjectivity component. I hope you can shed some of the rigidity you've seem to accumulated.

I listened to it all the way through. Once. I don't need to listen again because I don't perceive any depth lyrically or musically. I will not judge it to be good or bad. You, as the composer are the sole arbiter of whether it fills your vision of what you set out to do.

Are you an objective subjectivist or a subjective objectivist or a pure one? Which one?:shalom:

There is a wide spectrum between pure subjectivism and pure objectivism. In pure subjectivism, the artist is free from any restrictions to create anything without being involved in the restrictions and chains of laws. Subject-oriented artists have free-thinking moral characteristics and usually have nothing to do with facts and go their own way, and their works of art do not follow specific principles and rules. Unfortunately, failure awaits them 90% of the time, because the power of current realities is much greater than their free-thinking imaginations. Of course, this situation may change in the future.
On the other side of the spectrum, there is pure objectivism and all kinds of strange rules. I don't go into this field much because it doesn't have many fans in the 21st century.
