You don't have the October 4, 2021 version? That's the version I'm using not the available 1.1.9 version.

Sorry, I saw your link in a previous message and I thought that was it, didn't check the date. Please send it to me and I'll do a comparison. Now I'm going out so I'll do it as soon as I can. Could it be possible that some bug (maybe some parameter not going into the right place) with early versions make the sound different?
The other only reason that I can think of is a change in SRC but I don't think that devs are not aware of a resulting change in sound but who knows?

Ok, I did a comparison between last current version and the one I downloaded from you. I recorded some audio files when I was switching back and forth randomly between the 2 tracks wich were playing the same MIDI file with various presets: to me they sound identical*.

*The differences I noted, that are NOT related to the sound engine, are these: with the old version and the patch "Boingy" in Bank B that has an arpeggiator, if I press play on Ableton's transport (project tempo 120bpm), the sound starts, then stops for a couple of seconds and then restarts and continues to play (I suspect a bug in MIDI clock or something related).
The current one doesn't have this problem.

Another difference I noted is with Autobend patch (the one that loads automatically when opening the synth) but it should be with all patches that have parameters tempo synced to project clock: the clock time in the old version is set to 101 bpm regardless of project tempo and when project tempo is not 101 bpm, the delay will obviously sound different in the current version because it follow the project tempo and doesn't stay fixed as the old version.

This has been addressed in later versions and this is what I suspect is the reason you found differences between the old and current versions.

In regard to your comparison where I can hear a slightly duller sound in one of the files (the newer version) I re suggest you to use the same MIDI files for both versions because even a slight difference in velocity could be the culprit there. If you want you can send me the patch and I will compare it in both versions and report here but I really don't think that they would sound different with all variables being equal.

Using fruit loops. Same exact notes, and velocities. I like the sound of the old version. I'm probably going to use it regardless of the bugs. I have both dsp emu versions for each specific preset use if needed. I hear a difference in stereo width, delay trail, and flanger. Also the dullness yes even at the same gain. This is probably a side effect of the non synced tempo to host. Its all good. Use what you want and be happy.

Just out of curiosity could you point me to a preset that is duller in the current version so that I can check it?
I will continue to use the current version because it's more optimized and from my (not so extensive) tests the sound is identical but I'd like to know what causes differences in particular circumstances

Its most presets from my tests but not all. It could be a bug in flstudio (using latest version).
