I rarely, more like never; do this anymore. It's a total waste of time outside the context of the track you are about to add it to. I have gotten rid of all sample browsers/players/managers like XO, sononym, and even Snapper. When I "organize samples" now; I delete all the demos, artwork, and other spam text files, formats other than .wav. I dump any presets for stuff I use into a folder /Unsorted Presets and organize those whenever. If there is Midi I add to my Midis collection folder. If something says "Construction Kit" or "Stem" it gets immediately deleted. It takes about 2 minutes to do a full pack.

Once in a while, I will search that drive for terms like "fullmix", "demo.mp3", "agreement", "EULA", "artwork", and find all the spam they hide in other folders now. They are getting good at that.

I don't even use the sample browser in Logic anymore. I use the Finder to search and audition, and that's it.

for you. I enjoy sorting stuff and delete sample i will never use in any contex. That way my sample library do not grow infinite. I use Rando recently to find favourites in a fun way. It even plays Green Apple loops! Best Sample Browser imo.

 

It's another side of the plugin hoarding we all know.
Personally, as a guitar-tone lover metalhead I had a phase of "cab ir" hoarding. I'm sure I'm not the only one here
