Hey everyone!

I see a lot of people talking about creating NICNT-files, how to register libraries and searching for wallpapers and stuff but I haven't found much talk about "unlocking" either Kontakt itself or NKI files so that you don't need to register any libraries or create NICNT-files for them.

So are there ways to "unlock" KONTAKT itself so that it disregard registration of NKI's and load anything you throw at it? OR is there a way to remove this "lock" from any and all NKI files if you want?

Does anyone know how this thing actually works? What the process is? And what is it that Kontakt look for when checking if an NKI file is "locked" to a specific "reg code" and where? Is it in the XLM files in the Service Center folder?

Is the process the same for standalone and portable Kontakt?

 

nobody need to create nicnt files for library. if a library for kontakt full - it don't requires nicnt file.

nicnt file contain information for sample container decrypting, kontakt can't load samples without decrypt key.

 

Do you mean it is difficult or tedious? What is hard about it?

And regards to the decryption key, once you've installed/registered a library with the NICNT file you could remove it and still use the library so the decryption key would have to be moved from the NICNT file to another folder (hence I was asking about the XML file) or put inside the registry file.

 

in this scenario (dependence on decryption keys) it is no different from standard library binding. all the same, the functionality of some files will depend on the presence of other files.

registry? firstly, it is the same procedure for installing a library.
secondly, the registry is very bad. and this is only on Windows.

if you want to understand this issue, then first determine the questions you want to get answers to. now "you are running before the locomotive"
some libraries for kontakt full contain 30-60 (and more) thousand samples. sometimes such libraries appear in the form of unofficial repacks that use NKX containers with samples, but do not require installation or any files for decryption. look for information there...

First question: How do I "decrypt" an "encryptrd" library?

 

if you need access to samples from NKX you need utility inNKX (plugin for Total Commander, windows only).

That's not my issue. I've restructured and minified closer to 200 libraries in the last 1,5 years. I know most of that stuff I think.
What I want to know is how to -UNLOCK- or -DECRYPT- NKI files so they can be used as "standalone" instruments.
