    Works for me on Win 10. Doesn't even need reboot. Don't know why it doesn't work for you. Did you save the file as hosts.txt by accident?

    I think a lot of people are doing that because they are forgetting the admin rights

    I have tried it, but no good result.

    # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
    # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
    #
    # For example:
    #
    # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
    # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

    #

    # localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
    # 127.0.0.1 localhost
    # ::1 localhost
    #172.67.174.87 audioz.download
    #

    1) If you have some VPN service active, disable it.

    2) If you have your browser configured with non default DNS (default means no 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4., & many others), u've gotta navigate with your common ISP's DNS, I mean, automatic DNS.

    3) Check that your hosts file has the 172.67.174.87 audioz.download line there. Note; I've wrote a .bat called ADMiN DNS.bat which text is;

    start notepad "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\HOSTS" ,
    this way you can go fast to your hosts file & write or delete what you need through a couple of clicks (right click & choose to Run as Administrator). Otherwise, open CMD as Admin, write exactly;

    start notepad "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\HOSTS"

    ...& hit Enter to add the magic line. Close, save.

    4) Open CMD as Admin, copy/paste the next commands & hit enter one by one;

    NETSH WINSOCK RESET

    ipconfig /flushdns

    5) Turn off & on your network card.

    6) Tell us if worked (optional :rofl:).

    U've gotta delete the # symbol at the beggining of the magic line, 'cause the # neutralizes the blockade.

    and again this will be just temporary fix if they dont work it out, things will change .

    Will this be the permanent way to get into the sister site, or is it just temporary?

    Main site will be back soon. Meanwhile, to have the magic line in the hosts will no harm. When things go fine simply add the # at the beggining, and when Smith goes bad you go and delete the #.

    Its a way to access the site through a private network, so as long as the site is up and running, yes it should be permanent

    Of course that is your prerogative. It's a personal choice you have to make. Adding a 172 number to the hosts file however, is not a blocking number. It is purely access to a private server.

    UPDATE:--

    Since all this happened, I decided to learn a bit more about IP Addresses.

    I was under the impression 172 IP range was all private.. Some are and some are not.. The one we are using in our hosts file, ia not private, but public.. It wont make any difference but I just wanted to set the record straight!
