I missed the ability to see it in the theaters in transit/travel recently, and I don't know which streaming services carry it that I know of... anyone have any clue where one might find the new Brian Eno documentary "Eno" directed by Gary Hustwit out there?

(just in this multiplicity of greed and too streaming sites across global waters and whatnot and poor search engine reports....)

Hasn't hit the streams yet. If it's not on Stremio which (with just a few but necessary addons) acts much like a crawler searching all global torrent base, then it's not avail atm. Patience mate, i 'd love to watch it too, i did add it to my playlist for future pleasurable consumption.
    Cheers

You don't need a movie to learn Eno's a successful con artist who's managed to pull the "Emperor With No Clothes" routine on a very dim-witted human race.
He freely admits everything he's ever done is stolen: his 2 tape deck trick from LaMonte Young, ambient music from Harmonia/Cluster, etc.
I admire him for his con.
And laugh with him at the chickens he's hypnotized with one finger.
    Rock on, Brian :winker:

Ordinarily I'd agree with you but there's a couple people that get my Pretentious Pass... people thought to be doing nonsense that I find legit. David Lynch is one (or at least he was for a large chunk of his career; he did go downhill at one point) and Eno is another. One reason is I don't think either one takes their work as seriously as a lot of people think they do. They both have a sense of humor and very upfront about the nature of what they do. Eno has never taken himself that seriously and I think his ambient work and production approach is great. His "rock" albums I don't care for but again I think the critics took that stuff way way more seriously than he ever did.

Eno was very good in Roxy Music, he has produced some good albums for other people. Look forward to watching the docu, though not a massive fan, I do enjoy hearing how someone else does things and their take on the world as well.

If you have the Night Flight streaming service there's a pretty good Eno doc on there that covers his career up as far as 1977 or something. Forget the name though. And by pretty good I mean it's sort of okay.

I don't particularly disagree but i have to clarify something here. It's one thing incorporating other people's ideas into your own creations blindly and another thing being able to comprehend what those people did and assimilate these ideas into creating something "new" that has your own signature there. After all we are but apes right? All we do (at least the smarter ones) is absorb the knowledge that came before us and that of our own peers usually by friction or proximity. Eno's genius has been proven time and time again, so no need to say more.
    Thanks for listening.

But you should mate. Talking Heads' Remain In Light for one is such an amazing album in a class of its own. Incomparable by all standards. 44 years have passed and the album plays like nothing else, top notch in all aspects. I am not very fond of the remasters but you can't have it all in one lifetime haha.
    Cheers
PS: Ultravox is also one but not as amazing as Remain in Light imho. Eno & David Byrne's "My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts" from 1981 is great as well, sounds much like a follow up to Remain in Light.
I mean, man... so far ahead of its time:

Just for the sake of argument, although i agree for the majority of his own "songs", even his personal "rock" outlet can be amazing at times. Third Uncle from 1974's Taking Tiger Mountain is an early punk anthem (or should i say post punk before even punk was almost a thing in UK lol). Bauhaus knew their music well when they covered it in 82 and their cover is also excellent.
And i mean, what a fucking blaster mate:

I agree, there are several very cool tracks spread out over those albums. But as a body of work I don't lapse into rapturous spasms like most critics of the day over them. And apparently, in terms of an overall career trajectory Eno agreed... :dunno:

Apparently if anyone were to "rip" it, they would only be ripping one possible iteration of the movie out of hundreds and it wouldn't necessarily be a definitive one. Problematic... supposedly this is generated from 540 hours of possible footage. An interesting idea but ultimately editorially silly, it would seem. As a entertainment device random iterations can work but I think is a way of presenting useful information it's absurd..
