Has anyone found success in getting the newer version of Cyclone to work by chance? No matter what I throw at it, wether it'd be the initial boot floppy image, or any supported image file, it just doesn't seem to want to boot.

Is this an indefinite issue that needs to be fixed by the dev? Or is there some trickery with messing with configuration files?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated~! <3

Forgot to provide a screenshot of its current state. My apologies.

I have not used this or tried to. But from your screenshot, it looks to me as though you have a sampler that is not locating your samples directory. I would first try to use BatChmod or Permissions Reset 2 on it and the folder/s that contain your samples. So that the virtual sampler has access to those locations.

I would also try running it in Rosetta. These steps might not work, but they can't do any harm. They will help you rule out variable conditions. I would also firewall it, and block the developer's website in hosts file, to rule those out too.

Are you using V1.1? Seems to be working on Intel. When you reboot it, in the left upper corner of its display; it runs through sequential numbers up to 6144K, then "loads filters" and is ready to use.

I got it to work, but I'm never going to use this.

Oh! I'm actually on Intel, though I may've not used any other DAWs aside from GigPerformer 5 (yes I know it's a VST host, heh).

Had you simply installed it normally? It seems that this is a recurrent issue among other users, and you'd some how lucked out!

    Thanks again.

Update: it seems that GigPerformer just doesn't seem to like Cyclone... What you've observed just so happened to, well... happen within Logic Pro...

I installed it on High Sierra, Logic 10.4.8. No problem there, but the operation of it is using the arrow keys on your computer keyboard to navigate the menu items on its screen. I was only able to load up voices that it shipped with originally. Wav files are all greyed out anywhere I tried. It is like menu diving in a hardware sampler. So this thing is based on the Yamaha TX16W, did you ever try the CWI Technology TX16WX plugin? https://www.tx16wx.com/ CWI Technology TX16Wx v2.4.2g. There is an R2R release from 2018.

That version is much less of a menu-diving operation. The R2R version just unlocks the "pro" features. R2R's kg still worked with current version, the last time I looked at it.

I remember using it for AKAI Sample CDs... Never realized its namesakes origin... I appreciate it!

Updated my original response, just realized youre referencing a newer version which I havent tested yet. I've used Cyclone before on some older projects soI'll give this new version a go and report back.

Btw, not sure if youre aware but you could also try https://www.tx16wx.com/
