Hello everyone.

I used to be on here and sister site back in early to mid 2010's.

Was never a software developer or "anything" else, but was on here enough to receive directions on using batchmod and all that stuff.

I am NOW actually learning python and working towards data science career. This lead me to mistakenly delete a ton of python files from my mac. I wanted to do a clean install, and went online to see how to remove ALL python anything.

I mustve surely deleted files that ABLETON fricking uses... I went to open ABleton Live 10 on my mac with High Sierra and i kept getting error. It took a second for me to realize that ABleton USES python, and I prolly need to reinstal.

Look... I haven't done this stuff for 5 years. I don't remember any terminal sudo codes, or what the hell I was supposed to check on Batchmod... THE WHOLE process. I spent the last couple days trying to install v10.1.25.

I can't seem to get it to work. I have gone through comments on various releases before and after to try and RELEARN the batchmod process... I swear I used to check "root and wheel"... just hit all x's, check all boxes... but, none of it is working.

I tried batchmodding keyegen, app, auz file, etc... I can't get it to work. Now, all my preference are gone, themes gone, AND Live stays invalid.

I see stuff about the 10.0.6 keyegen, "use that" they say... I am just not sure how to proceed.

Can ANYONE please help...

Try Live 11, it works on High Sierra :

I will say this... I have an older macbook that I had cleaned out and installed a fresh osx on. I was gonna use the older mbp for coding... anyhow, there was a Live 11 on there!.. it was 11.2.11.
It was an HCiSO release (that I saved on an older ext. hd as well) that literally has nothing in it but an Ableton app and auz file.

No directions about batchmodding or nothin... I can't remember installing it, and IF I'm supposed to still batchmod the app AND auz. Im afraid to take a chance just copying app into app folder and just dragging auz onto it without batchmodding.

I will check your thing out, but I guess I wonder if you have any input on that.
