10 minutes' worth (or thereabouts) of comprehensive note application to demonstrate why human musicians have nothing to fear from AI or indeed @Danie :)

    I'll get the ball rolling:

Please feel free to post your own 10 mins' worth of recommendations!

I'd love to bask in this realization that we have nothing to fear but thing is: any artists we post here (in theory) are getting some royalties (not much but they are) when the supermarket uses their songs to keep shoppers in the zone. heck, the original guy that created the elevator soundtrack is getting his due as well. and you might enjoy hearing "start me up" at the supermarket and go "alright this is my jam", i'll take two packs of doritos because now i'm in a good mood and the doritos people paid good money to the stones to use their song in their ad. now cut back to AI where it does the song good enough to get you in the zone without crossing the plagiarism line. Won't take too long for it to get there. Now the stones are not getting any money and the supermarket pays that money, and probably less to the AI tech instead. So yeah, we do have a lot to fear because quality doesn't always prevail.
You can obviously disagree, but if you do any live shows you'll for sure have had friends bitch about a 5€ ticket admission for your show when as soon as they get in, a 15€ gin is in order. if the general people doesn't perceive this value the companies will go straight to AI. and these wonderful pieces of music will be far less because the authors will have to find other means of income. pure maths, really. sad but true. just look back on history the amount of geniuses that died in the poorhouse. you don't think AI will increase the odds of this? no fear whatsoever? it's more: there's nothing that we can do but hope for the best. meanwhile the pandemic ended and the "all together" vibe we had going through it didn't quite hold beyond that, did it? the "oh i miss live shows so much" people are not filling the music venues. it's the same people from before. the others just put it back in the back of the cupboard of their priorities.

This thread was/is simply meant as a positive shout-out for passionate/capable human creative endeavor. I believe non-organic AI will forever be unable to physically feel the thrilling impulse that energizes and informs individual/collective creative activity.

However, from an economic perspective the de-facto confluence of capitalism, a criminal political class and web technology (spotify, youtube etc) has already fatally undermined the ability for contemporary musical creatives to make anything remotely approaching a dignified living through recorded music. Which is worse than tragic. However, that won't stop people writing new song/music will it? Thus I don't believe AI will directly impact general popular music culture. You are alas quite right to note AI's negative impact for those who currently make a living through composition & production on small/medium film or marketing projects.

The intent was not to necessarily platform/promote a personal aesthetic but to showcase the effective harmonic/rhythmic utility of accomplished creativity.

However, if some of the posts help me identify any interesting, crazy or just plain talented composers, producers, or songwriting artists along the way, so much the better!

Radiohead have several songs which are pretty hard to determine the meter of until the drums come in, which I think is cool

Nice try, but this way of dealing with notes is not right. Full knowledge of the notes is different from what you sent. Anyone can pick up a musical instrument and start playing it any way he wants, but not every player has full knowledge of the notes. If these people move the strings with their fingers up and down for a thousand years, it does not mean that they will reach a deep understanding of the notes.

I suggest you take this mystical knowledge which has been imparted to you, move to the desert and start a cult, preferably one without internet access. Call it something like, "The Invocation of the Golden Ray". There you can impart your Wisdom to the worthy acolytes. The rest of us will muddle through.

Do you think I'm cracking jokes? No one believes my words.
Most of those who touch musical instruments and play with their keys and strings just love their sounds and the good feeling they get from playing. They learn a few songs or playing techniques and draw a crowd and warm them up and regale them with tales of their adventures in their songs.
This way of dealing with notes is not correct. Notes do not work like this.

No, I think you're a True Believer (with capital letters) in what's going on in your brain. Like a cult leader. :dunno:
