I mean, doing what you did will ofc work, bc all you’ve done is take an IR of whatever Tonex was doing in the cab section, and then immediately load that IR back into Tonex’s cab section - would be kinda weird if they sounded different!

what I was referring to is loading an amp+cab patch in tonex, disabling the cab section, and then using an entirely different, 3rd party IR instead.

In theory at that point, you should be able to use the amp section like a DI amp capture, but unfortunately it doesn’t work out like that in practice.

This is the reason why multiple 3rd party capture vendors provide both amp+cab captures alongside DI versions.

 

I see your point. I tried the IR I created with some DI captures and it sounded amazing with all of them, and outside of Tonex, too. What I didn't try though was disabling full rig cab sections and replacing those cabs with it.

Not sure if you find it better or not as I think that sending these links one by one probably take some time. Only if you are willing to, you can create a single link and share it here. I don't think there's any problem sharing links to preset files. Just remember that the folder should not contain any executable file, just presets, and you should be fine sharing it here and notifying the updates.

Are you a site admin? I don't mind doing this, I just would like confirmation from someone in charge that I won't be breaking any rules or putting the site at risk by linking here and not on sister site. I'd be happy doing it there too, does not matter to me.

It would make my life a lot easier though if I did not have to manage it through PMs, watching my profile page for new subscribers, and requests here that don't reach out to me directly lol.

I assumed with google indexing the forums it was best to keep any links off of here to prevent any heat, but I'm happy to do whatever is easiest for everyone.

 

Rather not do it. When Olymoon mod was still alive, it was eventually forbidden on audiosex forum after a while. Don't think it changed, no reason to.
