I found this to be quite interesting. :headbang: I am quite impressed, mostly by the precision in your video editing. That alone is enough to inspire me in new directions & possibilities.

I usually try [out of habit I suppose] to record & mix my stuff to make it sound as much like me as possible [how I sound to my friends when I'm just tripping out, in the zone, or what ever you call it]. :grooves:

What you have done is a different direction on the creativity wheel. I think I may try modifying my approach to see if genre-bending adds or deducts from my original vision. After all is said & done, creativity IS the name of the game.I haven't tried anything in the visual department yet but I feel a gleam in my mind's eye.

See the hair on that drummer? I was in my mid-twenty's when this song came out & I had a LOT of hair. It's what we did.

    One more thing, alpha3...

Did you reverse the images in your video? They all seem to be playing left-handed.

  4. AWESOME.You went in a direction that totally took me by surprise with a song that is probably at this point part of my genetic makeup from hearing it so many times in high school. All the elements work well together and bind nicely with your super creative glue. Thanks for the love.

Nice One. On my headphones it sounds like the bass is (slightly) out of tune with the rest of the instruments. That happens sometimes when u use a 'zoomy' bass.
Im not realy sure how that happens, but i had the same problem a couple of times when i use to make reggae music.
But overall a nice job :)

    one love!

Cheers Smooth Ripple. Your comments are much appreciated.

The video edit was the hardest part. Simply because the only video I could find was for the single version Promo. ie : No 2nd verse or 1st chorus.

That is what made me want to do it as I'd need to be clever to generate some extra footage. (Yeah reversed a couple or more shots to add to what was there.)

To be honest I used to try to sound like me, but decided that just me, is pretty bland and run of the mill. Yeah this is a classic for me as well. I've been a rock fan since the early seventies. But then I played in a reggae band for years. So I've got the 2 worlds to draw from.

In our day covering or remixing classic tracks was a nono ! Still is for a lot of people. But times and culture have radically changed since the 70's. What I am attempting to do is expand on the original song. Take it to new places if possible without losing the song's original flavor to much. It seems to be working for most of the tracks. :) All of these remixes I am using as a vehicle to learn to mix and master better.

Get into the video side if you can. It totally changes the flavours of tracks by what visuals you choose to use. All the best. Tez :)

Yeah Batman. I know what your sayin' It's an issue I have come across a few times. I did attempt to fix it. But it was making it sound worse. So I dedcided to leave it alone eventually. Respect. Tez. :)

Cheers Superliquid23. Much appreciated. Tez, :)
