hi,i want to install fx collection 5 r2r. i already have fx collection 4 on my system,i have feeling it is vr version.i really should keep a note.
anyway,i uninstalled version 4,but i see all the folders for fx still in program data arturia folder.
what should i do? delete thse folders manualy?
or should i just now install version 5 r2r?
    thanks
just found out i was vr version of fx collection 4 i had installed previously

doing it correctly the first time, can save the time you will waste doing it over (and possible confusion). If you ever have a plugin with a huge sample library or presets, you can usually move that folder by itself to another location, and then move it back. Create a symlink or change the plugins default file locations. That is for stuff like Omnisphere Steam folder, etc.

The best practice would be to remove everything with Revo Uninstaller.

ok,i hadnt done anything else since(i hadnt deleted the folders from above posts)as i wanted to do the uninstall correctly.
so i reinstalled the vr fx 4 and then reinstalled using revo
it is now on the part where i click scan to scan for leftover files.
the green bar has been going for 90 mins and no results have came up
surely it should not take that long to find leftover files?

TO be perfectly honest, I have never had an issue with Team V.R. stuff. Arturia's stuff is kind of on the same plane as waves audio. With waves you can install version 9 then grab v14 and never really notice the change because the core stuff never really changes much. At any rate I wouldn't make any changes unless I was having real issues that were determined as V.R. being the root cause.

If you're intent on changing over anyway, Revo (especially the newer versions) is a great place to start. Make certain the "scan all windows accounts" option is turned on. Do a search of the registry for "arturia" with regedt32. Use discretion on what you delete there though. After that I usually run Ultrasearch (win10+ only) and scan your drives for keyword "arturia". Ultrasearch can even search inside text files, so it will find everything. And yes, arturia stores most all the plugins and content in that "programdata" folder so if your switching gears (versions, v.r. vs r2r etc...) that is one that will need to get deleted in full. Good luck.

but why is it stuck on the green bar going from left to right on scan for leftovers?
i dont want to cancel,as then the folders are all still in program data and back to my query from few posts up

More than likely it's churning thru that "arturia" programdata folder. There is a literal crap-ton of stuff there. It might take awhile. That programdata folder is the main reason I symlink all that stuff to a 6TB storage drive - otherwise the C:\ drive gets the life sucked out of it.

What kind of media is your C: drive - HDD, SSD, Nvme? If HDD it might be that long. If SSD, or Nvme it shouldn't take that long...

yeah ultrasearch is a good one ....i rarely needed it when used revo or bulk crap uninstaller donationware .some rare devs have stuff all 3 of them dont find and i only knew from az comments what to delete.

when it comes to arturia i would never change teams cause i had the experience of preset saving fck ups even after revo .only help was downgrade version a few years to the blurry gui versions , that was fckt up .
