Hello, anyone who know the script lenguage in kontakt?
I' need to make a bypass button for the phase inverter but I don't have this result..

 

Kontakt Reference manual and Factory Scripts PDFs are a good way to start.
The language is similar to C++ (not that I understand it)

Also vi-kontrol forum is a good place to post such question, in the unlikely event, that Kontakt Guru wouldn't know how to do it.

I'm quite familiar with Kontakt, but scripts aren't my cup of tea

As a suggestion, try to find among your existing 'Kontakt' Instruments, or 'Commercial' ones, a 'Kontakt' Instrument ('.nki') that already possesses the option that you want to implement within your own 'Instrument' (in your example : 'a bypass button for the phase inverter'), then open its 'Script' to see where and how is written that function within the 'Script', then try to replicate it (copy it) within your own 'Instrument'.
BUT you must pay attention that some functions included in 'Kontakt' Scripts are dependent of a previous or a next function... *yes* , and this is where begins the 'mess', that only 'Script' Experts can solve 'in a breeze' ! *yes*

Your right Andrew i stay away from scripting & creating instruments in general but on point when it's comes to troubleshooting but i have been studying scripts for awhile since i last talk to olymoon but that's another story lol

 

To start learning Kontakt Scripting is a good idea to get a copy of the Kontakt 2 OR 3 manual. Less developed, but much better explained (some VI Control Guru dixit).

 

Yeah. You're right, the best would be a Kontakt 5 KSP manual with the detailed explanations of how works all like in the 2-3 version. Too bad, there is no such manual, just a reference of the factory scripts.

But well, as has been said, examining the factory scripts is a good way to learn. Examining instrument's scripts too. I myself currently trying to find a solution/workaround to the sample start with dfd mode problem, so good luck to everyone with their goals ;)

Who said such manual doesn't exist??? If your an N.I Product Developer, it's in the package i can upload it but not here if needed!!!

Yeah, there is a package it just has outline documentation about scripting and what is needed to have to send your library to N.I. other than that it's pretty useless (unless you need serial numbers to send out to your userbase and have your library encrypted in .nkx format. lol

No worries you can always unpack .nkx with a K'd Kontakt, with the Batch-compress option

N.I too smart to embed that part of the code in kontakt, they have a standalone or Super Kontakt version..So that leads me to think why can't we add that missing code????

Yes, I have a few of these "in-house" made nkx libraries. If you google "kontakt repack" you can find. Very useful repacks, few EWQL oldies stuff, a couple of IS pianos,...

K.Guru will know better than me, but I think the 's' of nks and the 'x' of nkx respond to NI Kontakt "Secure" sample Container and NI Kontakt "eXtra/eXtreme" secure sample container. Am I right, master?
