Hello, hello.

Just for fun, I just came up with a competition for all of you, dearest AudioSexuals.


1. THE CHALLENGES:
You can choose between one of two following challenges:

Challenge A:
To create a remix of a Metallica song using some of the multitrack files available in AudioZ (just search "metallica multitrack" in AudioZ). I might upload these files to my own uploaded account if required.
- The idea is that the song sounds different to the original
- You can turn it into any musical style you want.
- You can remix, add effects, strip, chop, add your own instrumental or vocal performance, etc. I don't even mind if it's "Blackened" performed in a Ukulele on its own.
- You can keep it metal, as long as it is different to the original (black metal, death metal, pop metal, etc)
- It has to be a full song.
- Submissions can be audio files or videos.
- Submissions here only, for everyone to see and hear

Challenge B:
To create an interpretation of any metal band.
- The idea is that you grab any known metal song and you put fake lyrics on top, considering that they are not easy to understand and they could sound like something funny.
- You can simply put subtitles to an existing music clip, or you can change the video completely by putting images that describe your new lyrics, like the examples below (you get extra points for this).
- The lyrics can be about anything. Just don't be overly rude.
- Submissions here only (via YouTube uploads, or similar)

2. THE DEADLINE
Time starts now. Yes now! Get moving! You have exactly 2 weeks from now.

Absolute deadline is:

1st May 2014, 10:00pm Australian Eastern Standard time (Time zone +10)

Make sure your submission(s) make it in time.


3. THE PRIZE:

ONE MONTH coupon for Uploaded.to

This will be given via PM, within 24 hours of the winner being announced.

4. FAQ:

Q. Why is Demon doing this?
A. Because I can. Because it's fun. Because I am renewing my 6 month uploaded account soon and I'll have a one month coupon to give away. I am also planning to do something silly like this every 6 months.

Q. Is mastering required?
A. Of course not.

Q. Are you expecting something super professional?
A. Absolutely not. It can be anything. Maybe you can submit a video of yourself in a ridiculous costume hitting some bongos while singing Enter Sandman.

Q. Who are the judges?
A. Demon. Others not submitting may be invited.

Q. How is judgement made?
A. If it makes me laugh or say wow, it's a potential winner. The louder the laugh or bigger the wow, the more chances to win. I am not expecting super quality work, super mixing or mastering. I certainly don't want to take a lot of your time.

Q. Why metal?
A. Because I am a metalhead and I prefer metal to have fun with (in these circumstances). And because I can be a better judge with metal. Please remember that Challenge A doesn't have to be metal; ideally you will change the song to a style of music that is your strength.


I truly hope there is some interest in this.

Me personally..... thanks for taking the effort to make things interesting, but really in truly cut the deadline to a week or two with no mastering and it will get alot of hits of enjoyment(proof from prior experience)

I was thinking the same as well , back in the day we would have stuff like this in the DC++ hub i was in and they did it a few times on "an audio torrent site forum" with some pretty swanky prizes, I didn't win of course because i was one of maybe 2 rock guys in a sea of electronica and when i did do something electronic they said it sounded too 80's hah ironic as i grew up playing synths in bands in the 80#s... But i digress so yea would be fun to hear what everyone else is up to on here, and im always down with a little consecutive critique to maybe push along a little more to learn new stuff
